8289ws Thermostat
Has anyone upgraded the slide thermostat to a digital one and if so, what model did you use? I liked the digital one I had in my Sunseeker

Think the most popular one used by people was made by HUNTER at HD.

Yes...because that slide thermostat in the 8289 is not worth much! Too much of a fluctuation between when it recycles...both with A/C and with heat....I seem to recall reading something that if you buy one from a Home Depot or Lowe's you need to make sure it is 12V compatible??? Am I dreaming this?

As long as any thermostat does not need 24 VAC. I use a Honeywell in my Trottage and It works great!

You are dreaming that, if a 24 volt stat comes with batteries it will work on a 12 volt system 90 percent of the time. You may need to hook-up a common wire to most but with some you don't. If you want the 2 speed a/c blower option you need to add a spst switch. Or you could just get a Coleman Mark
digital from Amazon for 69.00 bucks. Then your blower fan A/C would work with heater being on to circulate the warm air better plus have the 2 speeds.....

Scootdawg, did you get the #8330-3362, yesterday it was 69.00 bucks today I see it at 78.00, But it will allow you to run your furnace an A/C blower at the same time to help circulate the heat better. Much better stat then the Hunter. Plus you do not have to add a spdt switch to go from high or low fan speeds.

Yes that is the one that I ordered. Looked like a good buy after reading the reviews.

This is the one I installed and the fan will run if you slide the Fan switch to On, but when you slide the Cool Off Heat switch to Heat, the fan shuts off.

this stat reviews say's it will, did you get the # 8330-3362 model Coleman has about 6 models that look a like She said the fan will work with the furnace on. So your saying it will not work. I would be interested to know what model you put in? She is saying it works? here was the question-Using this thermostat can the fan be run at the same time as the heat (furnace, not the heat strip)?

Don't know the model no., just know I went out and tried it and when you slide the switch to Heat, the AC fan goes off.
