Agree about the wardrobe slide. That's where we keep our laundry basket.

We have a gas strut on the back door of the trailer, but not on the front. The little ball mounts for a gas strut are there, but no strut.

Should there be one? I'm wondering if having the gas strut on the front door is an option, or if it is supposed to be there and got left off by accident?

Decisions , decisions

Hello all, new to the forum. I was also searching for info on the 8311ws, and like most of you, I'm glad to hear that there are very few problems. Atleast none that are bad enough to mention. I'm still in the decision stage, as my wife and I are still torn between the 8311ws and the windjammer 3006wk. I prefer the 8311, and she likes the windjammer. Guess we can't really go wrong with either.

I think the V nose would pull a lot better, but they didnt have one on the lot when I bought mine.
I also like having my outside kitchen in the back. (Although I do like the bigger outside kitchen that 3006wk has.)

I dont think you'll be disappointed with either one.

The biggest selling point for me was the bathroom in the 8311ws. You are not cramped up against a wall or door when you're using the toilet. (gotta have room to get your business done!)

I was sold on the 8311 too. The third slide in the bedroom was appealing , but I wanted the bigger outside kitchen. We liked the layout and bought the 8312. No wardrobe slide but, much lighter. Good luck.

We've had little issues , but all warranty fix.

We had decided on ordering a 8311ss right before they changed the layout W/ wardrobe slide. At dealership to place the order and saw a 3006WK. After 5 years of research and confident about the 8311. Fell in love with 3006, purchased it and have never been more satisfied with or decision even though the unit I going back to factory for warranty work.

First, congrats on your Rockwood 8311!

I don't know about the 8311 not being popular. I can't imagine it wouldn't be. That being said, we have a 2013 model 8312. We fell in love with the large outdoor kitchen, and we knew we would primarily use the trailer for tailgating/camping purposes (NASCAR), so we felt that outdoor kitchen was a real plus. We have loved ours, but now that we have a few seasons in it, I hate that the hubby has to climb over me to get out of the BR when the HAB is occupied in the LR. There's just not much room to get out on his side. Plus, I hate that there are absolutely no mirrors in the MBR on our 8312, so we started looking at a couple of other floor plans and are thinking about trading soon.

One of the first ones we looked at was the 8311 since I do like the wardrobe slide. I'm just afraid I would really miss the larger outside kitchen. We use those large cabinets to store lots of kitchen stuff, plus the larger refrigerator is so nice. It's hard to decide which is more important, the MBR or the large outside kitchen. We are also looking at the 8328 for the large outside kitchen and the larger MBR, but then we'd give up the bunkhouse, and the 8328 only sleeps 4.

We really love the Rockwoods and the quality, so we're probably going to stick with this brand. The only issues we've had so far (knock wood) were this past spring--a blown tire (upgraded to Maxxis now) and a problem with the tongue jack, along with the Bluetooth failing on the old Genesis entertainment module. Both of those things were taken care of quickly at the dealer (both replaced). We did buy the extended warranty, so we just paid a small deductible.

Good luck with your 8311, and happy camping!

Consider the 3006wk, bunkhouse, nice out door kitchen, and large master.
