8314SS Awning light won't go out!

Just got myself a 2007 8314SS and after charging the battery find that the orange light, just above the kitchen window, will not go out. I've searched high & low and cannot find a switch. Please help a newbie out.

Thanks!

Possibly on a wall near a door, usually 40-46" high? only other wall switch for me is to extend/retract the slide, which is mid-deck and labelled as same. Good luck!

Do you have a remote? On my camper, if you turn the porch light on with the remote, it won't turn off with the switch inside the camper.

There's very few switches in the trailer and I've tried them all. I never got a remote with it and I think it's possibly too old to have one. It's a shame because I can't find the battery disconnect either and so it's killing my battery.

Every light has a switch. Be it on a wall or on the light itself.

Keep looking.

I am sure (hoping) that there is a switch for it. I just can't find it. I'm hoping someone on these forums has the same year and model, a 2007 Rockwood 8314SS. Maybe they can take a look and see what controls that light. I'm getting ready to start ripping trim and cabinets out to trace wires!!!

HELP!!!

Above the sink and under the kitchen upper cabinets are some switches. Have you tried them to see if light turns off? Do you have one switch that seems to not turn anything? Switch might be bad and shorted?

Andy, welcome to the Forum.

I once had a 2007 Rockwood Signature Ultra Lite that was not the same model as yours, but may have had a similar wiring scheme.

As I recall, there were some almost hidden and nearly flush mounted small rocker switches located on the underside of a kitchen wall cabinet that was hung directly above the kitchen sink and/or stove top. You might try looking there in your unit, just in case you haven't already spotted and tried those switches.

Good luck!

Mike

Turned out to be a defective switch, stuck on. Went down to Economy RVs in Mechanicsville, MD, yesterday and they confirmed it for me. 10 minutes later, light goes on, light goes off. Perfect.
