8325SS TT - water overflow

I have 3 connections for hoses on one side: city water, antifreeze and the swisher for the septic - all three in a row.. On the other side of the TT I have one that has a little screen vent right next to the cap. I've never realized what this one is for until now as it's leaking water through the little screen (never done this before) and when I try to open the cap (it's hard to open), water comes out and appears to be potable. can someone tell me if this is where I add fresh water to the holding tank? Also why is it overflowing out that little screen if I have never added water? Is water getting in that from the city water connection on the other side of the TT?

If you are hook up to city water and water comes out from the vent for the fresh water tank, then most likely the internal check valve in the on board water pump is leaking and allowing water to flow back to your fresh water tank. Disconnect city water and start you water pump and run for a few minutes. (open faucets) This might fix issue if debris is in check valve. If not, then you might have to dismantle pump and repair.

More....The one hookup by itself is for the fresh water tank. I am draining it now as it is full (how it got full, I don't know as it was only at 2 lights when I left home). There are three drains under the TT...two are together for hot and cold water. The third one is draining now...it's for the fresh water tank. The interesting thing is that I started to drain the other "cold" water drain and it was really rushing out so I turned off the city water and the draining immediately stopped. So, it appears that the city water goes into the TT and circulates to the faucets, etc but does NOT go into a holding tank. So now the big question is how did my fresh water tank get full when I never filled it?

Your fresh water tank uses your on board pump to circulate water and the city water connection uses the pressure of that connection to circulate water. The fresh water tank does not come into play at all when you have the city water connection hooked up. Like someone else said, if your tank is filling when you have the city water hooked up you probably have a bad check valve allowing water into it.

The shower is draining but when it's done there is still come water in the drain. I can see it just barely below the drain trap thingy. The drain trap thingy is one piece plastic and caulked in place so I can't remove it to stick something in the drain. Do you know why I would have water level at just below the drain but it drains ok when showering?

You should always have water in the trap as that prevents any gases from coming back up into the shower, all sinks, showers, etc work that way.

It's probably just the top of the "P" trap that due to constraints had to be mounted right at the drain. Just guessing.
