Add-A-Room on 5th wheel

We have a 5th wheel on order model 8280SS. We traded in a 12' Coleman tent trailer to get this. The tent trailer had an Add-A-Room which we found very handy. Does anyone use an add-a-room with their 5th? We just want the screen room to keep the bugs out. Northern Ontario where we camp has Black Fly's and mosquitos from early May into 2nd week of July and we like to sit outside of the trailer. Recommendations would be appreciated. We will have the new automatic awning on the 5th.

The weight of the screen room probably won't work with the electric awnings.

You should have the hydraulic drop arms on each rail for the dump feature for when it rains. I think they are only rated for 40 lbs.

I also think that A@E and Dometic don't recommend attaching anything to the electric awnings.

Who is the power awning supplier for the Rockwood Signature Editions? I find it hard to believe that with a lot of the trailers/5th wheels now getting the power awnings, that some manufacture doesn't have an add-a-room that is a universal fit for the industry.

A quick visit to Camping World yielded this result:

Looks like you need some measurements before ordering.

better find out for sure whose awning Rockwood uses, they used to use dometic. the link above is for a specific carefree power awning , the manufacturers typically use an "oem" version which is manufactured to their spec and price point. our Puma has a dometic power awning and the dealer we bought from sells rockwood , the parts manager is Ted, the store # is 231 739 5269, he may be able to get you an answer.

Rockwood's are the sister to Flagstaff, and my power awning is made by A&E/Dometic. And NO, they don't have any type of screen room for the power awnings, as it would interfere with the auto- rain dumping feature, as well as how they roll up. Randy

We have been back and forth with the dealer, and the parts manager at the dealership has found an AAR that will fit our trailer. In the emails it sounds very much like the Patty O'Room that Dometic sells. I emailed Dometic and asked if they have an AAR and they also mentioned the Patty O'Room. The parts manager has told us that the power awning settings for the rain dump are turned off to allow an AAR to function as a manual fixed awning. Needless to say, we are very pleased.

Thanks to all who posted a reply.
