Air bed drawer doesn't open?

Hi there all,

I just picked up my 2014 8282WS and can't wait to get it out camping. We have one issue, the sleep and store air sofa drawer will not come out more than 6". Anyone else have this problem or an idea on how to fix it. It looks like one side of the slide is hitting a hard stop.

Cheers,

Just a guess, any chance there is a spring loaded catch to release the mechanism?

Open the bed, then you will be able to see down along the drawer slides. Mine will stick occassionally, usually going in, a stern push will get it to go. A screw may have backed out in one of the slides.

thanks for the suggestions, there is no spring catch though. I have opened the bed and tried from behind to look for any block. nothing there, most likely a screw head blocking but the 2 that could be culprits will not tighten or loosen just spin.

Mine did same thing looked at the bottom of couch and found it was a bolt had loosened up when you shifted things back to alignment and tightened it up worked fine. Can't tell you exactly what to tighten but it was kind of obvious if I remember right.

thanks Mark,

Do you mean a bolt on the couch assembly or the slide for the drawer?

cheers,

Can't remember which ever one it was but it was under the couch and I think it was on the slide. Flip it up and take a look was really easy to spot on mine.

Even when it works "right" it still must be aligned perfectly or it will tend to jam. Had mine since 2008. Doesn't get better, doesn't get worse. Don't put anything heavy in there, just blankets, pillows and such.

Ok I will have a look and re-post. You are dead on Radio, the drawer is just flimsy plastic, we only plan on keeping the sheets for the bed in there.

cheers,

Radio is right they do tend to jam even when aligned correct but if not aligned won't open no matter what. Mines made of wood, not plastic therefore it might be a little different.

Probably still finding the occasional one hidden, I've got a bedroom drawer I need to replace the slide in hope I don't have it fall apart like that.
