air bed will not hold air.

I own a 2012 Windjammer 3065w, couple of weeks ago on the first trip of the season, I thought I would try the air bed that is located within the sofa. Pulled it out and unpacked it, pumped it up. Not real comfortable but would work for grand kids or visitors. It will not stay pumped up. It would bleed down several times throughout the night. There is a valve on the mattress that you turn it one setting to pump it up and when it reaches the proper fullness you switch the valve so the air stays in. It almost has to be leaking through that valve. Anyone had similar issues. I have not talked with the dealer, I have the extended warranty , I would be surprised if it were covered.

I had a similar situation first time we used ours. On ours, on the opposite end of where the inflate and deflate valve is, so at the foot end...there is another valve and I noticed it wasn't threaded all the way closed, that solved it for us.

Same thing happened to us. If you sit on the valve, it can unseat the flapper and allow leakage if the threaded cap is not tight.

Thanks, I will check it out on the next trip, I did notice I had the mattress backward, I don't know if it make a difference. The fill valve/pump was at the foot when the instructions say it should be located at the head. I will follow the instructions next time and see what happens.

Just get yourself a proper hid a bed and get rid of the air bed,
they don't work in the long run, they are a waste of time and money.

Air mattress in Forest River campers

Concerning air mattresses in the sofa of Forest river campers - forget about it. We used ours for the first time when our granddaughter was up for the weekend, the first nite it went quite soft and the second nite it went completely dead - note our granddaughter is 15 and there was no jumping or fooling around. When I returned to the Dealer - Blevins of Potsdam, NY, I was told that the air mattress was not a warranty item and there was nothing they could do. Got a little sympathy and that was it! Good Luck.

One of the selling points by the salesman at camping world was this great new couch that folded out with this air bed. The 5th wheel was Elkridge by Heartland We were sold. Invited granddaughter, her husband and kids to go with us as we had this great air bed. Ended up they had to sleep on floor was so bad...It's now in one of our bedrooms at home and we have mattress that can role out and also can lower table as be for kids. The actual bed in the 5th wheel is great...Our fold out with a mattress in our Hitchhiker was great...but then everything in that old 5th wheel Hitchhiker was good and they stood behind any problem. Not so anymore. So once again beware of sale man...

We had a 2010 Sabre 5th Wheel. Same couch, fold out with air bed and only grandkids slept on it. Every morning when Colton woke up he's be flat down!! DH found holes now and again that we patched, but still no good. DH the engineer said it's the way you have to fold it up before you can make the bed back into a couch. So we took the air mattress completely out and "folded it up" to put it into the slide out drawer under the couch??!!?? So guess what, we went out a bought a new 2015 Sabre with a PROPER pull out bed, no more air mattress, problem solved!!
