So far the one we have in 2015 3008 is working ok but how are you suppose to use the battery pump as I can't figure it out.There are no adaptor just the pump?

I learned A few years ago after having the air mattress leak down at night, with no visible leaks.
Take the cap off of the mattress. Take A piece of seran wrap and fold it over A few times into A piece that is 1/2 again larger then the cap. Put the wrap over the hole and replace the cap tightly.

Have had no loss of air since doing this.

Does anyone know what brand is the best for replacement for the original from Forest River?

"Best" is a matter of opinion.
I'd just go to Sportsman's WHSE and buy a middle of the road cost wise mattress and try it.

I've had 2. Never a leak but I did have a built in pump go out. They both held air all night.
