Our WJ came with just C load tires. They were almost maxed out on weight and I tend to pack heavy. So we replaced ours the first season. I just went up to D load and all had been fine for 2 seasons. I like the softer ride on D Load so things don't get bounced around in the trailer.I would replace the original tires unless they are rated D or E. I worried more about the load rating than the name brand.

Welcome to the Windjammer family. I too have owned several travel trailers and agree that this is the highest quality so far. We are starting our 3rd season with ours and have over 90 nights so far. Could not be happier.

Little bit of a slope at that site. You could almost hang a hammock under the front end

We just bought a 2017 Windjammer 3006WK, and are excited for our first trip in a couple weeks. It looks like Windjammer is making a few changes for 2018. Check out the new one for sale here: 2018 Forest River Rockwood Wind Jammer 3006WK sale at Best RV Center 228872
They changed the counter top, the cabinet above the sink is gone, they used a different control panel, changed the entertainment center (no sub), and replaced 2 drawers in the bedroom with a cabinet. I wish I had the traditional control panel (although mine seems to work fine...), but besides that, I'm really glad we got a 2017.

Yeah, tell me about it. Dexter upgraded my axles under warranty with a different degree which gave me 4" more lift.

Interesting floor plan with the bunkhouse. Very different from ours but good for a family. Thanks for sharing.

Here's a link explaining why there's a difference between the Flagstaff V-lite and the Rockwood Windjammer. Forest River started in 1996 and grew expediently, branching off into several different avenues and acquisitions. In 2005 FR was purchased by (the) Warren Buffet and Berkshire Hathaway. Forest River has several lines of campers, commercial vehicles, pontoon boats (and the list goes on and on) but they produce the exact same floor plans, models, and materials down their "Flagstaff" and "Rockwood" lines with the only variations in decor and colors (some of that is even the same). The two lines were designed as such so that Dealers could be in closer proximity to sell the floor plans and models with two "different" brands.
As far as I can tell, they aren't that plentiful, as I am shopping for a Rockwood WJ 3006W (bunkhouse) and find that they are scarce across the Nation. I love the true queen slide-out in the Master bedroom in either model and I like the color scheme of the Rockwood WJ better than the Flagstaff V-Lite. However, it seems that either line-up is spread pretty thin across dealerships near and far for some reason, which makes me wonder 'why?'. Are these "V" noses as good as they look? Are they just in so much demand that they are behind in manufacturing? Or are they NOT as good as they appear and people are backing off which brings production down? I would think that if they were money-pits with lots of problems, there would be a high volume of used sales on these models on the market, but my research finds that there are few used ones for sale on the internet. Most of the posts here on this forum seem to be fairly positive threads. Is there something I should know before making my purchase?

That's where we bought ours from. There were changes from the 2016 to 2017 too. They got rid of the side 1/2 door into the bunkhouse and also got rid of the 3rd bunk and replaced it with that sofa/seat. That also means less out side storage but I think I like the 2017 style better, maybe a toss up. The thing I do like is the back window is much smaller which allows the mount for a decent size TV in the bedroom. And less window for heat to easily migrate through...
As far as the 2018, I almost wish they got rid of all the bedroom drawers and made it a big cabinet with shelves. There is a lot of wasted space behind those drawers...

If you aren't too far from Indiana, I would buy there, I am sure you can get a better deal, (much less transportation costs), and after driving around Indiana and seeing those transport drivers passing me doing over 70 miles per hour, it's no wonder my original tires didn't last long. From there to CA, where we bought ours would be over 2000 miles of abuse on the trailer...

Our dealership says they can't keep the WJ on the lot. There are several around here and we see them in the campground more often now. We think ours is the best camper we have owned and we have had 6 from all different brands.

I drove 989 miles to Campers Inn, Elwood City to purchase our 2014 WindJammer 3008W. Getting there was a disaster but the sales Manager and whole team welcomed my arrival work religiously on helping my theft dilemma. But driving back and finally setting up in our pole barn where we will live on long visits I can say what a great TT. Comfortable, space and easy living wish we had done this years ago. Love this TT. Well looked after trailers are hit or miss ours is like new. I hope all followers enjoy this great trailer! Good luck and safe travels to all!!!!

We have a 2011 V-Lite 30WFKSS. We purchased it used. Found out it has an in-line water filter. Do both the fresh water and city water go through it or just the fresh water alone? We mostly stay where we have water at campgrounds so I have been using an external filter because I didn't know about the one under the entertainment center. I just want to know if I need to continue to use the external filter. They are cheap so no big deal, just one thing not to worry about or bring along if I can help it.
I am also wondering about winterizing also. With past campers, I have just pumped the water via a sump pump rather than using the internal pump so I wouldn't have to deal with sanitizing the fresh water tank. I know to pull the filter and just put the housing back empty. I think I will use the antifreeze inlet option because I need to get the pink stuff into the canister. This would also protect the pump. I didn't do that last year. Thankfully, it was very mild or I would have cracked the canister.

Thanks for the reply, but that doesn't really answer the questions.
