Is your carports on concrete or are they on gravel pad?

We have a 2016 3029W and love everything about it. The only problem we had was with the iRV 66 entertainment system, but that was so efficiently handled and easily replaced, I dont really consider it a problem.

We bought a 2014 Windjammer 2809 in 2015. Love the big couch in the V nose. We had problems with the countertops but they were replaced. The only reason I will not get another Windjammer is the fact that the two slideouts are on the same side which makes it difficult to be level, when parked at the same place for several days...it tends to lean on that side. Other than that, it's a Rockwood so it's a good trailer! Merry XMass to all!

Our first V-lite was set up like yours with two slides. The way to solve the leaning on the side with the slides is even if tt is level starting we would put down a 2x6 board on that side and back on to it. Then unhitch then make sure level front to back, put down the stabilizer jacks then run slides out. You will find that the camper will settle in to almost level and a slight bit high on the slide 0ut side when extended. Worked great and solved that issue. Later RJD

I set up high on slide out side, extend the stabilizers on that side, extend the slides, then the stabilizers on the other side. Stays level after that.

X2 on putting a board down. I use the plastic stacking blocks. I have one of those electronic levelers that tells you in inches what you need to make it level. Works great.

Anybody with a Windjammer done a disc brake conversion ? Been scratching my head on it and I know lots of the fiver folks are doing them. I was not sure with our torsion type axles if they were as easy to do etc, but I really like the idea of moving up to the disc brakes. Got the good tires on her now. Would love to take that next step !

You are definitely going to spend some money doing that. Not saying that it can't be done though. https://performancetrailerbraking.co...hoCqfgQAvD_BwE

Kits start around $1600.

If you think about it, not that expensive even if you have it done. About ($2500) I was lined up to have them installed on my v-Lite but ran into a snag. My camper only came with 4000# axles and there is no kit available from those folks. They even came to the house and to do the install after many conversations and thought it could be done but low and behold found out the backing plates would not fit. From what I've seen on the Windjamers they have the 5000# axles and the conversion for the tork flex axles can be done. I'm still hoping they come up with a kit for mine as I've heard nothing but good results after the installs. Later RJD

My carport is on crushed packed gravel. I am gradually installing 16”x16” pavers. The last space between the uprights is enclosed to make my shed for the mower ect. I put a plywood used for sub floors in there. When you pull up it looks like there is a garage behind the carport, big door and everything. The only problem is the “garage”;is 52 inches deep! Jay

Your V Lite is longer than mine, since Im only 31 feet. Seems like we would have the same axles, but you obviously know since you actually had them come out and try to do the install. Give it some time and they will likely have a kit that will fit it...

Just look to see what your axle rating is. If 5000# your good to go. Later RJD

We are making our maiden voyage in our 3006WK. We have the Diamond pack, and the awning seam that’s about 12” from the bead where it attaches to the trailer is leaking all the way down the seam. I’m assuming that is a faulty awning because it wasn’t sealed. It has the metal cover when the awning is rolled up. Anybody else have that problem?

Thanks

Congrats on your first trip. That awning seam leak is a common problem. The seam needs to be sealed. We bought a spray from our dealer and it did a great job. Spray it once each year and done. I think it was a silicon spray. Others on here will know for sure.

There have been several reports on this and not just on your model.

Mine leaked and I sealed it by rubbing a very light coat of clear sealer (ProFlex not silicone) along the seam. (just enough to fill the stitch holes)

Others have reported using a tent seam sealer.

Finally, some have reported the seam not leaking after being weathered a bit.

When you used the ProFlex, what did you do to prep the fabric before applying it? Also, did you apply it on both sides or just one? How many seasons has this held up for you?

Mine was only a few weeks old so no prep.

I used my finger and just pushed a little into the seam from the top only.

I extended the awning about a foot and worked off a ladder.

I used the ProFlex very sparingly. It could be easy to gob too much on so be cautious.
