Ok, I just got back from a 2000 mile trip and the tires are still intact.
I'm going to replace them while my TT is still undamaged.....so,
How do I get my $300?
Do I have to have some sort of failure first?

Going from LRC (50psi) to LRD (65psi) is fine - the rims are rated for 65PSI. Going to LRE (80psi) you will need new rims.

I have posted this before but will do so again for this post. We had stopped at the rest center in Texarkana for lunch and I checked the tires because I felt some unusual movement prior to stopping. One of the tires had only 10 lbs. I filled up the tire and stopped at a nearby Goodyear Truck Center. They checked my tire and said that it had cracks in it and the other tire also had cracks. These tires had only 11 months on them. They did not recommend that I drive on them but since they only did truck tires, they sent me down the road to Discount Wheel and Tire. They confirmed the two cracked tires and found unusual stretch marks on the other two tires. They also recommended that I not drive on them. Contacted Rockwood and they suggested that I drive to their authorized service center which was 60 miles away. When they were advised of what Goodyear and Discount said, they authorized replacement of all four tires to a maximum of $75 each which they said they authorized dealer would have done. I agreed to the $75 and upgraded the tires. The original tires were 6 ply and rated for 2125 lbs each. We upgraded to 10 ply tires which were rated for 2850 lbs each. Rockwood gave me $300 towards the new tires. I was only $100 out of pocket but I got much better tires and am happy with them.

I put a little over 2500 miles on my Trail Express C rated tires running with the TireMinder TPMS (which are about as worthless as the Trail Express tires IMO).
Went with Maxxis M8008 D rated and got the TST 507RV TPMS. Very impressed with the Maxxis D rated tires and TST.
I was getting a little trailer sway, but with the Maxxis D rated tires this sway was eliminated and I felt like the Jammer pulled a lot better...

Any info on who/how to contact FR in order to get them to compensate for replacement tires, and has anyone done this successfully without having a failure first?
I'll be putting an average of probably 500 miles/month on them over the winter, and thousands of miles next year, and don't want to wait for a problem before replacing.
Probably won't get a chance before our trip in just over a week, but would like to replace them soon after that

Really? I thought this was just based on the rim size (thickness)
I haven't checked my current tires yet, but I believe they're likely C rated, and would like to switch to E rated.

5picker - Our 5th wheel was delivered early this year. The tire guy said the tires were made in 2015. The tires had less than 6000 miles on them. We did a couple of short trips early this year. We've been out for 2 months and put on a little over 5000 miles when we had the problem.

We've pushed our so-called luck even further. Five yrs and 15k miles on the OEM, PRC produced tires. No cracks, no bulges and no abnormal tread wear. What the heck!

Five years is enough for any trailer tire, if nothing else they should be replaced because of age alone. Good Luck!

Using nitrogen and keeping speed down negates the need for Tire Monitor systems. I use a Infrared Thermometer and check at most every stop, make sure the load is not over the capabilities of the tires and balanced front to back, put GY Marathons on too.

On the Tire minders while driving if you want to check psi and temp you have to manually push buttons scrolling through each tire. Just about as dangerous as texting and driving. I also experienced signal lose while driving all the time. With the TST I've never lost the signal and it constantly / automatically is scrolling through all your tires, you never have to take eyes off the road to find and push buttons.

I would disagree. One of our fine OEM Trail Express tires had a 360 degree tread separation while driving on the highway and I had absolutely no idea it happened - but for the guy that pulled up along side us waving his hat out the window. I cannot see the curb side tires in the mirror and felt absolutely no difference in the ride. I was only 15 miles from the house, but I have no idea how long I was driving with a flat.
Replaced the OEM LR C junk with LR D's and bought a TST. No way will I ever tow with out a TPMS. Got really lucky once - the tread completely separated, but did not break across the width, so the entire tread was wrapped around the axle and caused no damage to the trailer. No plans to push my luck in the future.

We contacted our original dealer and scheduled our RV for repair on Sept. 30. Their warranty department is going to assess the damage and forward to FR for consideration. We also have a lifetime warranty with the dealer and insurance through Progressive. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out. I will be contacting FR about the tire selection issue and the NTSB.

2X went from C to D rated and TST wouldnt leave home without them...
