Another mod today
Another mod done today. Added a voltmeter to the side of my battery box so I can easily check my voltage on my dual 6v batteries when we're boondocking. In the past I'd have to remove the covers and use my hand held meter. This will be so much easier.
I added a small toggle switch so the meter would not be "on" except when needed.

I did a similar meter just above my control panel and put a switch in one of the unused factory blank spots. Now you have me thinking. One question: is the meter you installed on the battery box waterproof? Jay

Very nice indeed. Nothing says "sweet mod" better than it looking like it's OEM . . .
(I know it's ALWAYS the case that the mod is BETTER than OEM , but it's awesome when it doesn't even look like a mod . . .)

I hope your Mctunning purchase keeps on working. Mine died in <1week and Mctunning never got back to me so money wasted - It was a Xmas present from DW last year and failed outside return window at Amazon. I bought a different brand voltmeter. Nice addition to have, neat place to put it. Momentary contact switch would be ideal...

I like that gauge idea, i definitely would do that one but for now i'm using one of the plug in ones in a 12v socket not used often. But yours you can check on a walk by, mine i would have to open the unit up.

I'm trying to do the 6 volt conversion but have only 24 inches on my battery holder Rack. All battery boxes I have looked at are to wide on the outside measurment.
I need two boxes.
Any ideas?

Dual battery box
Check out this dual battery box. Expensive, but it is heavy duty and you can attach locks to both sides.

Look into tool boxes. They come in many shapes and sizes and work great for stuff like this. Here are a few I have done.

I ended up doing a small pickup truck box on my pop up. Put the batteries in there, along with a few other things like the bottle and screw jacks. Added a small divider and some hidden vents for the battery side. Worked out great.
