You might look at the VuCube. The one we have(1000 series) has the remote control to find the satellite signal. I carry a 50' & 100' of RG-6 cable from Wal-Mart. We have directv, and only takes a few minutes to set up(no tripod). I just have to find an open south sky. Ground surface doesn't have to be exactly level(but helps) because you set the elevation with the control on the set up screen/satellite signal menu(normally 46 degrees for directv). Although it doesn't find the satellite by itself, it is powered by the antenna cable from your satellite box. We have used it for 3 years now and I still have other campers asking how we like it. We love it and have had the dog/grandbaby knock it around/just takes a minute to set it back facing south, sometimes making no signal adjustment at all! . I have watched others walk out to their tripods-adjusting/moving, in & out of their trailers. I have to set it up once, and it's done(and we always try to pick the shadiest spots in the C.G.'s) Good luck with your decision.

thanks for the reply! However we cannot get direct tv in canada and have
shaw direct, we searched the VuCube as an option however it does not come in
shaw direct! The one we are looking at (and am not quite sure about it yet
as we still need more opinions), works pretty much the same priniciple and
its called a "carry out" by wineguard. It comes in Shaw driect, the reason
we want shaw direct is because my husband cannot live without his Canadian
sports lool! ( the smooth camper he is lol). It can be carried out to any
location and has an auto finder as well. Anyone heard of it? I presume its
something new and that’s why I am a little unsure of it yet! Anyone from Canada with the dome carry out been to the southern USA yet with shaw direct?

We are from Alberta and heading south with the same questions and concerns. Did you get any more info from or about Shaw set ups? Love to hear from you.
