Any Knowledgeable Rockwood 2506S Owners?
I have searched here and globally with no viable specific results.
We just purchased our first travel trailer and have just winterized for the first time. While new to TT’s, I have been managing Vacation Rentals in the Sierra Mountains of CA for 40+ years and can winterize a cabin in my sleep but this is a little different. I pulled several Videos from YouTube and believe I have successfully accomplished the task with one possible exception; Bypass of Water Heater.
There are multiple references to Bypass Valves for the Water Heater. In my unit there are no valves visible in the Water Heater compartment. I removed the rear center compartment ‘slide’ and then disassembled and removed the partition to get access to the in-line water filter immediately behind the enclosed Water Heater area. Are the Bypass Valves in the same area?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Do you have anything like this on your unit?
The middle valve is the bypass valve.

some units now only have one valve on the cold in you will see a valve there that will bypass the WH with a check valve on the hot out only one 2 way valve is needed . depends on the unit

I think it depends on different make and models of RV's. My previous TH was sUrveyor and did not have a by-pass valve. Mycurrentunit, a Coachman Freedom Express, does not have a by-pass valve either.

Nope. Neither my previous TT not the present TT were on demand. Actually they are both Suburbans with electric and LP. Just cold water in with no shut off valve and got water out with no cut off valve. Manual drain plug and anode rod.

They only started adding them in the last 10 years or so. I have owned trailers without one.

My 2020 MiniLite was set up like this:

Two valves. I pulled the anode rod/plug from my tank, drained the water, turned both valves, and pumped 4 gallons of anti-freeze in. Not a drop out of the tank, so it must've worked.

I just bought a 2506S a week or so ago (2017). I am going to be doing some stuff to it later today and will take a look and see what mine looks like. I don't need to winterize, it though, as it doesn't freeze where I am at (Rocklin, CA).

I have a 2019 2506s. The bypass valve is there but you can access it through the small entry door which is the small rear end door on the passenger side just past the outdoor kitchen. Once you open the door there is an access panel that you need to remove and you will see it. Previous pic by another poster shows location.

Yes, you should see a valve on the cold and hot lines directly behind the water heater. They need to be in the close position the lever 90 degrees to the line. Then there is a connecting line between the hot and cold water which needs to be moved to open. Which is the lever is parallel to the line. I have left the flimsy panel off looking to tidying up the wires and adding a shelf on top. Something you might want to look at is I added a truck tool box to the front of our 2506S for the battery and other stuff. As well l added two Valterra sewer hose storage for underneath the back to hold extra lengths of hoses since there are two drains on this TT.

I have a 2017 2506S and the valves are in the access door (back passenger side) to the right of the water heater.

This is what I found after removing the interior panel along side of the rear compartment slideout. I was able to dig around and found a placard with instructions that was previously folded behind something. I did turn the two (2) indicated valves to an opposing position on both. I'm now wondering if I need to go back and blow out the lines again as the bypass vales were not turned when I blew out the lines?

Instead of blowing through the bypass line, you blew through the WH tank. The bypass line was probably empty anyway, so it shouldn't make much difference; but if you're concerned, do it again. It won't hurt anything.
(I'm assuming you drained the WH and re-installed the anode/drain plug before you blew out the lines.)

You should look again . with out the by-pass you can't draw antifreeze through the hot water lines unless you fill the water tank with antifreeze . that would be 6 gallons or more of wasted antifreeze . just pulling the drain plug and draining the heater does nothing for the hot water lines going from the tank to faucets

I would think even on demand type would have them just so you could winterize unless they just pump the antifreeze through the on demand since it's a small amount compared to a 6 gallon or bigger . this i don't really know don't see the on demand to much
