Anyone have an actual 2109s tongue weight?
Hi folks, I ended up selling my Equalizer with my Jayco 17Z yesterday so I'm ordering a new one to go with my 2109s that's on order.
According to the specs, the fictional dry hitch weight is 456 lbs. which works out to just under 12% of the fictional dry weight.
:Edited to add: Apparently the Rockwood brochure is wrong when it says 4765 dry weight since yellow stickers on several for sale online show around 3927 lbs dry weight.
Anyway, it looks like even heavily loading the trailer to close to max weight, the 600/6000 Equalizer should be fine and the calculator on the Equalizer says it will, but that I would be nearing capacity and may want to consider the 1,000/10,000
What are your thoughts on this, especially for those that have actually weighed their 2109s? I wish they had an 800 lb version.

If you have 2 20lb propane bottles and a battery on tongue, that will give you 125 to 150 pounds right there. This weight is not included in the specs. The 10k might be the right direction. Hope you get it figured out...

When we weighed at a CAT scale last fall, the tongue weight of our early 2016 model 2109S was just 420 lbs, a bit light given that the TT had a total camping trip weight of 4420. Dry weight according to the yellow sticker is 3818. I need to think about what else I can load into the front compartment, but there's already lots of stuff in there.
I have to set my Husky wdh "loose", on only the 2nd chain link for the Silverado to sit perfect. It's so easy to put on it makes me think there's not very much to distribute. It handles a tongue weight of 600-800 lbs with TT gross of 8000 lb, bought for a previous TT, so it might be too much for this trailer.

Thanks SkyWalker, that's the type of info I was looking for. I think I'm going to go with the 600/6000 Equalizer. I seriously doubt we would ever hit 600 lbs since we've never been heavy packers with any of our campers.

what are you towing with? ...........i dont use an equalizer on my truck and have zero sway or anything problems.

I have a Ram 1500. My old little Jayco hybrid was lighter overall, but had a similar tongue weight since it was a single axle. I much preferred towing that one with the Equalizer than without it.

I have a 2013 2109s and the Equal-i-zer 600/6000. It is totally awsome.
Pulled trailer back from a trip with 28mph head/cross winds and couldn't tell
the trailer was there except I couldn't see out inside rearview.

We have a 2013 F150 2wd, and have towed our 2109s home without a WD hitch. It was not fun! Have installed a Andersen hitch and it seems much better. I have also installed a set of air bags, but haven't towed with them yet.

I ordered and just received another 600/6000 Equalizer hitch. the same one that I just sold with the old trailer.
The new one changed a bit in the six years since I bought the last one. It has built in pull down locks for the L-shaped pins that hold the bars on the L-brackets instead of removable retaining pins. I like that!

I'm using the Blue Ox Swaypro with 700 lb bars.
Works great with no sway whatsoever.
