'itat' Quote: " The spare tire doesn't exert the same twisting on the bumper. "
__________________________________________________ ________________

The 'Folding spare tire holder' mounted to my WC bumper does wiggle and wobble side to side going down the road , at least on my unit and others I have seen with the same type of spare mount.
It may not be the same exertion a loaded bike rack provides but it still produced a hefty vibration that I curbed with a very strong / sturdy bungy cord.

I had both types of spare tire holders and kept the folding one as it allows me to easily put a step ladder behind the spare on top of the bumper when I want to take it along.

Be very careful in putting extra weight to already a very light trailer!
We have a Ultra light Rockwood. This trailer is so light, that we can't really put anything in it! The sticker says "dry" weight is approx. 5800 #'s.. actual dry weight is 6700 #'s (nothing in it). Already way over weight! What happens with this is that your tires aren't rated for that kind of weight and you will get a big time sway! and eventually bulging tires! The axles are rated for only 6,000 #'s
These trailers really aren't set up for "real" camping nor are they set up for carrying anything other than possibly a sleeping bag and a gallon of milk and even there you are probably overloaded.. sorry to be so sarcastic, but really they aren't functional for REAL camping. The bike rack? check your dry weight, what axles are rated.. just look under the trailer you can see what each axle is rated. Our are 3k each.. I can't believe anyone could build a trailer that you aren't even able to carry water cause it will put you over the pound limit.. Good Luck..

bowebow, you have a 2014 V-Cross 30VSK. I see pics on the internet showing a "2014 V-Cross Platinum 30VSK" with a factory installed platform on the back so does your TT have a heavier frame and bumper than most ultra-lites?

Platform was mounted to frame top. It doesn't look Any stronger to me than one with out this option. I found no use for platform and removed it before someone got hurt. Bumper is same as most. Looks same as Winnebago Minnie 2201 we had before and carried same bikes etc.

[QUOTE=Waynedeer;1075700]I think you should consider yourself lucky if the bumper does not fall off under its own weight;

Best laugh so far today. Thanks

I installed this to take our bikes. It wasn't real difficult to install. Works great. Its a front mounted receiver. This link is for your F250.

X2. Tie the bikes down tight and you won't notice they are there unless you focus on them.

I thought it was going to be an issue but the DW hasn't complained once.
