Anyone replaced power jack

Has anyone swap out their rockwood factory power tung jack. Mine sounds like a crying condor. I am sure early morning pullouts and late arrivals I have made a few campers mad. It is loud. Have not ha in the budget money to replace but might this spring so starting to look.

I replaced my LGI that came with the trailer after the gears stripped with a Barker 3500VIP. Quieter, smoother, faster and more power.

Check etrailer.com for a power jack. They have good prices and very good service. Brother-in-law replaced his with one last month. Very satisfied.

Three bolts and one wire. Very easy to swap out. The challenge is to support the tongue with blocking or another jack and not use the front stabilizers to temporarily hold the tongue up. Most stabilizers are not designed to carry that much weight.

Barker Power Jack

First replaced with a HD Husky power jack. The Husky failed after about 5x (got a partial $ refund from the retailer) and put the money towards a Barker VP3000 (top rated by users).

Just hook up to your TV, just don't need to hook up WD bars and no issues changing the jack.

But that would be easy and why do it the easy way?

But, playtime's warning is a good one.

I've seen people bend their scissors jacks thinking they can support the weight of their trailer. I'm sorry to say that I've done that once myself several years ago. Live and learn.

I replaced my broken Lippert jack with a Husky HB3000. Very happy with the Husky hitch. While hitched up it took all of 10 minutes start to finish. Word to the wise, disconnect your battery while making your connection. It didn't bother me at all but my son taught me a few new words while attempting to connect the wire.

Husky Jack

Arn,
I installed the Husky Brut 3000, and it failed completely after about 5x. There is a small shear pin in the top motor housing that failed. We were very careful NOT to over extend the jack. After raising the camper one time to about 3 inches above the TV ball, while pulling the TV forward the jack completely collapsed (also bending the front stabalizer jacks somewhat) We were in a very remote area of WY and had to drive over 100 miles to a RV dealer to purchase a manual jack. Once the shear pin fails, there is no way to repair the jack in the field. All of the gear housing a supports come apart if you try to remove the motor housing.
We got a partial refund when we returned from our vacation and went with the Barker 3000. My RV dealer said they had a few Husky jack failures.
