Is it Dometic or coleman? What temp is your trailer inside and what is your stat set at. Can't guess at your problem or send you in the right direction without a little more info. If you have a EMT progressive or something how many amps is it showing that you are pulling? IMPORTANT to know.
The 5th wheel is brand new. I'm on my third ac unit. The first two were covered by warranty. I did have an RV place diagnose it, and they are the ones who replaced the units. Low on freon was what the factory said it probably was. It's a Coleman. It's been in the 90's the past couple days here in NJ. We are heading out this weekend, so I'll see how this latest unit fairs. If I remember correctly, this unit was blowing with a 17 degree difference. If this one doesn't cool it will go back too. Maybe they will upgrade it to a 15K. Either that or they will have to just keep on sending me new ones until I get one that works.

If this unit has a 17 degree difference then it is working. An old unit, 15 years ago, would freeze you out but that is not the case with the newer Freon's. As we have stated 17 is average and good for a modern AC unit.

Where you heading? We are getting a cold front coming thru tomorrow so temps are going to be in the low 80's, upper 70's, this weekend.

I just measured my difference and it is 16.5", It has been running for about a week so it is satisfied and accurate, To keep my trailer at 75 it is running about twice as long as it is off. The return was measured at the kitchen counter, waiste high, which is where I always measure from.

Haha! That figures, of course it will be cool out! I'm just heading to south Jersey. I had a feeling it had to do with different types of freon. My past 2 campers were like ice boxes. Somethings just shouldn't be messed with!

I have no idea. But my RV guy said it could be done easily. I didnt get into specifics. I think the part I hate almost more than the AC not being so cold, is the fact that they have been up on that roof 3 times now, and nicked the rubber once already. Roof leaks REALLY scare me!

I agree with the others, you need to upgrade to a 15.5K Unit. Without modifying the electric system (go from 30 to 50 Amp) and 2 A/C, that's about the best you can do.

One thing that WILL help you in a high humidity area is this:

I know they *say* 1 unit is good for 500SQ FT but get two and put one fore (bathroom is best) and the other aft (close to kitchen sink or stove - especially if you boil water/cook in the camper when it is hot).

Umm...if they have damaged your roof, shouldn't they be responsible to repair it (probably just some dicor or eternabond is all that is needed.)
