Are my stock tires going to be ok
On my truck I have goodyear eagle ls-2 rated for 2400 pounds each my truck is a 2013 chevy silverado 1500 extended cab standard box ltz. My truck is rated to pull 9600 pounds we ordered a Rockwood signature Ultra Lite with diamond package 8280 the weight is 7500 pounds. just wondering do I need to get new tires on my truck or will stock tires be ok thank you

If they are P rated tires, in a word, NO. You need LT LR D or E tires on your truck.

When I picked my RV (8280) up from the dealer I had the stock tires on my Tundra (load rated 2600 lbs.). I did have the tires aired up to their max of 45psi. 5th wheel towed fine--however, it was about a 70 mi. trip on level to rolling two lane highway. Prior to heading out West through the Rockies I installed LT tires on the Tundra. With the LT (E rated) tires and other suspension mods (Bilsten shocks, sway bar, Air Lift bags) I felt in complete control and the RV followed me like a dream. Just know that your ride comfort will be more harsh with the "E" rated tires when not loaded or towing.

My tires are p275/55 r20 any recommendations on a good LT tire this size

Everybody has a favorite and mine are the Michelin LTX M/S2. It comes highly rated from a number of sources (do a search) and owners report upwards of 80,000 miles before wearing out. However, they are a little more expensive. But what I like about any Michelin tire is that they don't have issues of pulling or out of round. I am very particular in this regard and it is a time waster and frustrating when tires aren't perfect.

"P" Passenger rated tire. Used to pull my 5r for the first year (pictures). Not good.

Sorry.
Sidewall flexing causes cracking. Almost caused a blow out.

I use LTX A/T2 which tow great also have lots of snow and cut through the slush, noiser than the LTX M/S2 but in my case I like them. I run 65 lbs for my 9,200 lb fiver.

With your tires inflated to the maximum 44 psi you have 4800 pounds of capacity but your truck axles are only rated for 3900 pounds. Your 5er has an emptry hitch weight of almost 1100 pounds. Increase that with what you will probably put in the front of the trailer and the weight of the hitch, full tank of gas, you, wife, kids and other stuff you will put in the truck and you will probably be over the the 1750 pounds of weight carrying capacity of your truck. I have a similar truck pulling a ball hitch trailer and I must be very carefull to not put anything heavy in the truck bed when the trailer is attached in order to remain within the capacity of the truck.

I put a set of Cooper HT3 10 ply load range E tires on my F150 Ecoboost Crew (18" wheels). They ride nice and tow even nicer, and you won't break the bank. Cost was about $850 and got a $70 rebate. The P rated factory tires are basically mush but ride better than 10 ply tires

I have 2007 GMC 1500 ext. cab, 6.5 box, changed the original P rated for Michelin LT MX/2, and it made a huge difference, well worth the money.

I had Michelin LTX AT2 on mine and now I'm trying B.F. Goodrich All Terrain TA's. They're both great tires, but I have to say I prefer the Michelin's except for the cost. My Michelin's were $450 more, which is the main reason I'm trying the BFG's.

Load range on the zeons are over 2800 I would think that would be enough

The load range is ok but the tire in your size is not LT. It is an XL load which means it is a P tire. This is the problem with 20 inch tires. Most of the tires people are listing do not come in a LT 20". The BFGoodrich K02 tires come in the right size and LT rated but it is only a load range D. You really have to do some searching to find an LT in an E rating or higher in your size.

It looks like your choice is limited to the bfg's with load range d. It is a great tire- just changed mine off of my Tundra after 38k on them. Just inflate them to 60 or 65 lbs depending if your wheels can take that pressure.
