Are the door keys unique??

I've read online in many places that the camper storage compartments are pretty much all used by the same key (751) which I've confirmed indeed my compartments with my 2009 8306SS are the 751 key. I'm planning on replacing these locks for security purposes...

My question is, do I also need to replace the locks on the main doors? Or are these door keys unique?

I think the door keys are unique. But wouldn't hurt to re key them just to be safe.

The thing is I'm asking the question because I don't want to deal with the hassle of replacing all of the locks unless its necessary...

The storage keys as you mentioned are all keyed the same, but as my dealer told me, the door keys are unique.

Key question

At the FROG Rally in Branson last month there was an occasion that someone locked their keys in the trailer...NO NAMES PLEASE.....but they had heard that there were only like 14 seperate keys and sure enough...another person in our group of 14 rigs DID have a key that worked.

I just asked my dealer that same question and was told there are like 9 different key cuts for the door keys. I wanted to get a couple spares and he said just call with the key number and he could get them for me.

I've heard rumors of this same thing, there's a limit on the key variations...what is wrong with this industry?? Why is it okay for this to occur in the RV industry? People would be appalled if automobile manufacturers only had 14 different key combinations.

I've already had my 32" LCD TV stolen from my camper, albeit the doors were unlocked, but a thief will know of this weakness...

So if I have to replace all of the locks, does anyone know of where I can go to purchase locks compatible with my 09 Rockwood 8606SS?

Well, when thieves can do what is included in the link below, it really won't matter what key you have.

There are some interesting comments below the video, if you care to read on how you "might" protect your rv/house/self.

Oh, geez, thanks Bobby......now I am not going to be able to sleep at night !!!

I do have a back up system by Ruger Enterprises.

I had heard about bump keys, and I think they sets are readily available on the internet.
