FYI, 3001W front bedroom slide tearing vinyl

Since this thread seems to be the only Windjammer exclusive thread I though I would post this here.

After only a few months with our new 3001W we noticed that the end of the bed caught the vinyl at the floor vent and ripped it as the slide went out. We have a 2013 so I don't know if anything changed in that area from previous years or if it is just a minor variation in the slide in our unit. We have the minimal carpet option so to repair it with no seams (front to back) they would have to cut it out and then when it is replaced quarter round would have to be added throughout. The dealer also opted to carpet the bedroom instead. We agreed with the carpet option. The dealer is also installing rollers under the corners of the bed so it will not slide on the floor covering anymore.

Given the impact of a tear in the vinyl like this, I wanted to inform others so maybe a preventitive step (like rollers) could be taken beforehand to avoid the problem.

I asked the dealer to go through their Forest River contacts and recommend some design change in the future. I am also going to contact Forest River.

Still love the trailer. We are heading out 7/14 for the Badlands, Blackhills, and then Colorado. We'll be watching for other V-nosers.

We had the Windjammer out the last couple of days at Garden of the Gods Campground in Colorado Springs. (Very busy place for the middle of the week BTW)

I did spot another Windjammer heading east on Highway 24 into Colorado Springs yesterday.

This would be our very first Windjammer seen during a camping trip.

Talk about Wind Jammer being endangered. I have my 3006w parked in the middle of a vintage trailer rally in Felton Ca. Kinda fun seeing my trailer between '50's and 60's trailers.

We had the Windjammer out one night last weekend and the last two nights. Even drove through Basswood RV Resort (talk about crowded and busy) and didn't seen any other v-nose trailers of any type.

We are concluding a 3200 mile trip through MO, SD, CO, and TX. The only v-noser was seen while driving through KC. Old Car, was that you driving around? We will be back home in Arkansas by mid week and will have to wait until January now to continue our search when we head to Florida.

OJnArk; we've had the trailer out the last 2 weekends. When and where did you see the other v-nose? If it was today, we were coming around 435 from the north side (airport) to the south side (Grandview) between 11:30 am and 12:30 pm and then south on US 71 from 12:30 to 1 PM. Got off the highway in Harrisonville, MO.

I have a 3008, 2012 model. I saw 3 units a Raccoon Holler, NC a couple of weeks ago.

Welcome to the forum and the v-nose family Bobhaus! 3 units in one campground is the biggest gathering I've heard of so far.

Your are correct Yooroo; have not read back all the way through the forum in awhile. I know they're out there, just don't run across them very often.

Old Car, it was 7/16 when we went through KC heading up to the Badlands. We were going North on 435 on the East side. I am not sure the model and don't recall the tow vehicle but we saw a Windjammer heading South.

Wasn't me on that day. We are heading to South Dakota in 25 days--but who's counting!

We just bought a new 2012 3001W the end of June. My in-laws liked it so much that they ordered a 2013 3008W. Theirs should be in by the end of the month. So if you two camping close together it could be us.

V-Lite seen Highway 50 East

Saw it yesterday, just outside Monarch Mountain, East of Gunnison Colorado, about 9am, heading east on US50. Heck of a hill to pull a camper over, but a lot of folks were doing it.

They DO exist! What were the odds. We pull into Cedarbrook CG in Lebanon, OH and low and behold right out our back window is a 2013 Windjammer! Yahoo! Neighbors! We took tours of each of ours and had a wonderful weekend.

Skunked again...

We did not see another V-nose at Potato Creek SP (North Liberty, IN) this past weekend, and saw not a hint of one on the roadways either coming or going. Actually thought with the Elkhart FROG rally getting underway there would be a sighting or two with the increased traffic in the area.

Anyway, that makes four straight trips for us without sighting another V-nose! If I didn't love the Windjammer so much, I think I'd start feeling a little self-conscious (as if I'd purchased a Volkswagen Thing or AMC Pacer). Now I am really beginning to wonder why people are staring, where I used be absolutely certain it was just because the new rig was so "pretty".

The world can be a cruel place. Next thing you know, someone will come along and tell me the law is not a noble profession.
