Awning led strip.

Some of the lights are burnt out as you can hopefully see from the picture. Where would we get a replacement strip of leds? They are installed in a track on the side so they should be pretty easy to replace. Thanks.Click image for larger version

How new is your trailer. Still under warranty?

It's a 2014. We've had it for almost a year.

If you are under one year then talk to your dealer about warranty.

It's available thru a Dometic dealer
But when I checked it was pricey ($75). Mine did the same thing but I use them rarely so I haven't replaced them yet. If you need it I have the Dometic part # on my computer at home. I think it just sticks into the track at the bottom of the awning

Got a ladder? Take a look. Try pushing on either side of part that isn't lit....sometimes it'll fix it.

superbrightleds.com. Replace with the rgb(red green blue). They come with controller and remote. Select between colors and are dimmable.

There has been a major failure rate on these LED strips with many being replaced twice while in the warranty period. I had mine replaced once and now lights are starting to fail. I am a year out of warranty. I heard the strips weren't sealed properly and water getting in was the culprit. So if you keep them dry and actually light them up more it may dissipate the water and they will work better.

Ours were fine all last year on our Georgetown MH - we store it indoors over the winter, and noticed last trip that only about 20 inches light up anymore - caught it under warranty by 3 days.......they've ordered the part, but it's not in yet.

I've bought 12 strings since this had become a popular mod, all from Superbrite lights, so some times 1 will last quite awhile and the next one 1 week....the strips are getting better in lasting, as time goes on.

If it's under a year get it done under warranty. I have had mine replaced twice on my 2703WS.seems to be common point of failure.according to my tech it's a pain in the butt to wire it in.

Wiring depends on trailer layout...mine was easy....both on rv and awning

Sorry for the late reply, but we called the dealer and a new LED strip is being covered under our warranty. Has anybody replaced these themselves, or should we leave replacing them to the dealer?

We had the carefree awning lights installed under warranty 3 times because of LED failures...

see what we did below:

http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...rip-47449.html

to add..the 3M tape finally gave up the ghost and I ran a very thin bead of silicone that is holding up the strip now...the controller is still working after 1+ years

I originally bought the LED lighting that attaches to the awning at the roll up edge. I kept it even after getting my new trailer that has the lights as I figured they may fail. Now if you watch Lowe's at Christmas time you can by the LED strips in the length almost close the length of your awning for $9. You can buy the tubes that attach to the awning that hold the lights from camping world or maybe other sources. I have stocked up on these and they are nice and bright. I f you are camping at Christmas buy the colored ones. Later RJD
