Should I be worried? This is a photo of the sticker on my axle and then a photo of the load rating for TT. GVWR is greater than axle rating... Hmmmm
Rockwood 2604WS. I weighed dry at just over 6000 lbs...

Tongue weight adds to the axle weight to make gvwr.

Yep, you need to weigh the trailer as you use it. You are probably OK. Tongue weight could easily be 800 lbs.

The mfg specs show the dry hitch weight to be 739# plus 6,000# axles = GVWR. With a unloaded vehicle weight (dry weight) of 5,676# you have a cargo capacity (propane, water, food, clothes, tools and gear) of 1,025#. Good idea to weigh the camper when you have it fully loaded so you know for sure...we found out we are carrying about 2,000# of stuff....

If you took the dry weight it says and the ccc and add them up you get 7667 if you go by at least 10% of that weight is a tongue then the weight on the axles will only be 6900 lbs so your good if you go by the ideal tongue of 12% then the weight on axles will be 6747lbs which is even better. Does that make sense.

No, if each axle is rated for 3000# then it would seem to me that the total weight on the axles is 6000#. 6747# would be 747# over their rating?

The others are right that some of the GVWR is carried by the hitch.
But there is no doubt the manufacturer puts the bare minimum on for axles, and probably explains all of the failures we hear about.
Just how much extra would it cost to put the proper axles under our campers?

It seems it is more than the bare minimum. How do you balance your weight perfectly between the front and back axle. I mean it seems to me I have to be perfectly weight balanced front to back or I will exceed the max on one axle or the other.

How do you balance so you don't over load an axle?
You probably can't, and the factory doesn't seem to care.
It is the same logic that has them put on tires that are barely rated for the load they are supposed to carry.
As long as they meet the legal requirements, they are content to leave the consequences to those who buy their products.
It really is the strangest business I have run across.
