Battery dead.

I have a 2002 Rockwood 2602. I unplugged the camper of a night to work on the outlet that the camper was plugged into. Now the battery is dead. How long does it take for the onboard charging system to recharge the battery. I had it plugged in for around 8 hours a it is still dead. Anybody that has any info would be helpful.

I would pull the betters and put it on a real charger. It'll also tell you if the battery is shot. How old is it? I just had to replace two batteries in my microlite. They were 2008, and dead as a door nail...

I bought the camper 4 months ago. Never had any problems until I unplugged it for a night. The guy I bought it from said that the battery is around four years old. I will try what you suggested. Thanks for the info.

Besides a home charger, most auto parts stores have a battery load tester and can test for free.

4 years is about all you get out of the average battery. I'd take it to an auto parts store for complete testing like deartruc said.

Consider an Interstate SRM-29 over the standard group 24 deep cycle. Nice upgrade which only a little longer than the 24. That's what I bought to replace my marginal deep cycle a couple months back.

Charged the battery last night. Seems like it is holding a charge. Keeping my fingers crossed. So far so good.

If the on board converter / charger isn't charging you may have to look at that as well.
If it's a wfco "most likely " there's a trouble shooting guide in the "library " on the green strip at top of Web page on your pc browser.

Now that you have a charge on it, your local auto parts house can test it for you. Without a load test, you have no idea as to the condition of that battery. I still recommend that you test it.
