Bedroom ceiling fan in Rockwood UltraLite 5er ?

I'm considering installing a bedroom ceiling fan in our 8281WS.
My question was whether anyone has done this, and has any recommendations on how to get at the 12v supply ? (I assume it'd be similar on all the Rockwood ultra-lite 5er's)

I'm toying with either the MaxxAir MaxxFan Deluxe (the all-in one fan and cover), or a Fantastic Fan with MaxxAir II cover. I like the look of the MaxxFan Deluxe since it's low profile when the vent is closed, and can also be used like an internal ceiling fan.

I'm guessing that it should be a relatively easy job to remove the existing vent to install the fan, but I'm just not sure where to get at the 12v line, or how tricky this is.
