Bees and Bugs in the Refrig and WH

My Rockwood 8315 in parked at home and I noticed a few scout bees on the water heater vent so I quickly taped a towel over the vents to keep them out of the appliances. Is there any factory made bee and or bug screens available???

Help..

You bet there is, but not factory-made. Camco makes some.

They also make them for furnaces.

Just buy some metal screen wire and alum tape it inside over the grill portion on both wh & refrigerator. I also took the cover off the ac and covered the entire open area between the compressor & the condenser. Dirt daubers love to build nests on the fan blades.

Added. Oops, just noticed you said water heater vent. Don't use my method there.

I put dryer sheets wherever there is an opening. They are good for propane spiders & stink bugs as well. I have been told that pet flea collars work as well, but dryer sheets are a lot cheaper. You will get some dryer odor though.

If you get ants some Comet or Ajax sprinkled around the point of contact with the ground stops them until rain washes it away. A long term solution might be Talstar, just be very careful how you use it. It solved a long term ant problem by spraying around my house foundation. Nobody trying to help eat my dinner now.
