Black water holding tank

I have a 2007 8314ss trailer. My black water holding tank fills quickly, must dump every 2-3 days for two people. In addition I have proper chemicals and base water allowance in the tank, however material does not flow out of tank easily. I have had 4 other trailers over the past 20 years and never experienced these problems. The dealership could not find any problems with any related the components. Any suggestions?

Sorry I have no real advice for you except to clean the tank as best you can and take an inspection mirror or camera and look around in it to see if you can find anything. In some instances the vanity is plumbed to the black tank. You might check to see if yours is like that.

You may want to have someone slightly flush the toilet to allow air in when you open the valve. If it flows freely you have a vent problem which is not allowing air into the tank causing a vacuum. You may want to check the vent on the roof for possible blockage also. I have read on occasion that the piece of the tank that was drilled out for the toilet drain has fallen into the tank and is partially blocking the exit near the valve. Good luck, let us know what you find.

In our case, I couldn't get the tank to completely empty, even by tilting the trailer towards the sewer discharge valve. After peaking in the enclosed underbelly, I found the pipe comes out the middle of the rear of the tank. I can now completely empty the tank by being level side to side, and tongue slightly raised.

Since nobody has asked yet, I will. Why do you think the tank is full? Are you going by the monitor panel? These can be very inaccurate. Shine a light down the toilet when flushing and see if it is really full. Wife and I spent 5 days in ours, dumped the black tank before leaving, and it was only 3/4 full. You may be chasing a problem you don't have, or a problem with the tank sensors.

Like Windrider said.... are you SURE the tank is full??
Look down the potty with the foot valve open to see.
Also as mentioned earlier it's fairly common to find the installer
cut the top hole with a hole saw and dropped the "hole" down
into the tank and just left it.
That can easily block the outlet causing slow dumping.

Google "mechanics mirror" to see mirrors.
Sears, hardware stores, harbor freight, autozone all will
have them.

Shut off the water first and see what you can see.
TIP-- close doors and windows and set your
ceiling exhaust fan to blow down INTO your trailer.
This will greatly lower the smell factor while you've
got your face over the potty!
