???? Blue Light
Is there anyone that actually likes that blue light that is in the Dometic Model DMR702 refrigerator ? Already talked to Dometic and they are supposed to be sending me a white light but it can't get here quick enough. Try looking for a yellow mustard container with that stupid thing.

LOL I took all the lights out of ours and they weren't blue just to bright at night and was blinding me.

I am with you do you have a number and name so I can call and get a white light also .Cant seem to find anything in there especially after a few cocktails

We have a 8280 with the blue light also . Are they sending you the new light no charge or is there a charge ? If so how much will it be .

I just looked Dometic up and the phone number is 1-800-544-4881. You will need the model number. They at first tried to charge me for the white light , $16.25 plus shipping, but I told them that I had seen on this forum where they were providing replacements. She went and checked and said that they would send it for nothing. I still can't believe that they thought that the blue light was a good idea!

The blue light is suppose to kill bacteria. My DW and I like the blue light.

Maybe so....if the light stayed on after you closed the door. But, for the short amount of time the door is open, the blue light will have no effect on bacteria.

I don't know about the bacteria part, but we both like the blue light. It doesn't bother us at all.

The only thing that bugs me about the blue light is I can't tell the difference between the regular and sugar-free Red Bulls.

Try looking at a steak... almost enough to give you the heaves.
I got my replacement free from Dometic last summer. The call-taker said they had received a memo, although its probably tattered and buried by now.

I just called Dometic and the customer rep. had not heard of any free replacement for the blue light . I guess the memo must be in the round file .

Well I have been working on this since April. After hearing folks getting free replacements. So I called and After I got a little aggressive they said they would send a replacement free. Now it was back ordered till June 6. Called then and now back ordered till Aug 6. So here Is the game plan for tomorrow will call and see if I can order and if so when will it be shipped. If they say next day guess what I will then give them my purchase order no and say ok now you can send me the free one as you promised. I think they speak with forked tong. Later RJD
