Boondocking question
This will be our first time boondocking and therefore using the fresh water tank and we have what's I'm sure a dumb question. Does the water heater work the same? Fill the fresh water tank, turn on the hot water tap inside and run it to fill the heater tank before turning on the heater? We have a '15 Mini Lite 2104s.

You got it right. Just make sure that you fill the WH prior. Or the WH will use 6g of water to fill.

Charge the water system
You can preform the charging prior or after filling the fresh water tank. Make sure you hook up to city water prior to running your water pump or you will suck out valuable water from your tank to charge your lines and fill your heater. When you depart you should have as much water in your fresh tank as you think you need and all the lines and heater filled. Of course you can charge the lines from the fresh water tank and than top off the tank again. I do not do it that way because the pump takes a bit to fill the HW tank and I do not want to run it that much. City water is easier.
When I first started out with a rig I filled my fresh tank to 2/3 without filling the lines. When I turned on the pump it sucked 1/3 of the water out of my tank and I ran out of fresh water.

Since it is your first time using your Freshwater tank, you may want to sanitize it first.
Good luck and have fun!!!

You ask about the W/H working the Same! Has your W/H got Both G/E option? Have you used the Gas side if equip? Have you filled your propane tank? How much Battery power do you have? Youroo!!
