Cable TV at RV Parks

We have always had snowy cable TV reception at every RV Park we have be at in the last two years (our RVing experience).

Today when checking into the KOA at West Wendover, NV the desk person mentioned that there would be 46 channels on cable and I said that they would probably be all snowy. She said they should be very clear and if I was having cable issues it might be the wiring in our TT. She said to run a cable from their connection point directly to the TV in the TT.

When we got set up we looked over the entertainment center controls and noticed two cable connections - TV and Aux/Sat with a green light on next to the Aux/Sat. Pushed a button to turn off the Aux/Sat selection and - - - no more snowy cable TV!

DUH!

On ours, the green light means that the antenna booster is on. I would guess that would muddle the cable signal a bit.

Is it the same thing?

The green light is for the booster connected to the rooftop antenna it is not the aux/sat switch. It should be off when connected to anything other than the off the air antenna mounted on the roof of your RV.

sounds like another thing your dealer missed showing you during your PDI.
that's a pretty standard thing that should have been covered.

too bad you didn't post a question about it, 2 years ago! you'd have had clear tv!

This is one of those things that you find out about and say...DAH. I know when I had my walk through with the serviceman when we bought our tt, this was never covered. Our Puma was used when we bought it and had a television installed in the bedroom on the wall. A few camping trips ago I was in there watching tv...I got to looking at the controller and thought, why did they have this extra stuff on it? I had never noticed that it had a built in DVD player! I thought to myself...DAH...you dummy. Just one of those things you find out later that you did not know.

We ar having EXACT problem but not clear where this (green light is) we have 2012 Rockwood Windjammer with Genesis Technology system and Toshiba wall mounted TV. We checked our extra TV straight to cable line at campsite and Wallah! Clear cable so it's obviously a wiring / button issue. Please help explain this to me! ( you will b my new best friend).

Look for something that resembles the picture in the post above.

I have a Windjammer 3008 and the antenna power booster is located in the cabinet just underneath your tv. When you open the door to this cabinet on the left side will be the hookups for video games or satellite tv box output, a electrical plug in, and at the rear is the cable hookup for where you hookup your input to your satellite box. The green light/antenna booster button is located where the coax cable hookups are located. If you are using the antenna on the TT you need to have the button pushed in for the booster and as stated above if you are using cable or satellite tv the power booster needs to be off.

I am currently not where I can take a picture, but if needed I can take one in the morning and post it.
