Picking up our 8317rkss in a couple of weeks. I have to drive 1800 miles to pick it up so hope it tows well. I don't foresee any problems. I have a 2500 dodge diesel with lots of power, equalizer hitch (1200 lbs). and am loaded for most problems. I think I will be leaving the darling wife at home with the baby for this one though. Just in case there are any unforeseen problems I don't want the "Honey do you think it should be doing that.....Does that look ok.......I don't think I like that..?" I think some people can relate. And just so you know I would not want to be married to any one else, I love my wife!! Can't wait to get the trailer. Any one having any problems yet?

Just make sure that the water filter housing doesn't leak. We have had our trailer for 3 months and the filter housing leaked. I unscrewed it and screwed it back and it stopped. MAKE SURE THE SLIDING DOORS ARE SECURED BEFORE EVERY TRAVEL.

Picked up our trailer on Monday. Drove 1800 miles home with it. It towes excellent. Everything is as it should be. Everything rode well, not one door or drawer opened up. Had a good experience with the guy showing us the trailer. The only issue we had was the 30-40 mph head wind cut down on the mileage a little the one day. Will let you know how the first outing goes.

Buying a 2010 8317 RKSS

Hello everyone, I have just joined this forum and I am one week away from getting my new trailer. I have a few questions that some of you might be able to help me with.

1) I have a 2009 F150 super crew 4x4 with the 5.4 engine, the mirrors are the regular ones that do not extend out. I know I have afew options with mirror extentions that I can buy and I would like to know what I should look at and what I should stay away from when it comes to these. I did see one that has a mirrir on 8" arm and mounts onto the existing mirror with a suction cup by turning a handle a creatinga very tight vacuum seal, are these any good? Do they vibrate like crazy when you are driving?

2) There is a wax protective coating that is put on by the dealer and they say it lasts for 5-10 years. It costs about a $1000 and they gaurentee that you only have to spray wash the trailer and all will come off, and anything that does not they will buff out the next time the trailer is there. What do you guys think, is this something that is worth it ?

Hi Neighbor

Don't waste your money on dealer installed waxes and coating. They are no better than the usless ones auto dealers sell. I may have a mirror extention kicking around . PM me

Welcome to the site......I heard the suction cup mirrors are very good. I personally have an 07 f150 with the extension mirrors that slide on. Yours being a 2009, you do have different mirrors and may have a hard time finding the slide on one.

$1000 will buy a lot of wax.....if you don't mind a little elbow grease on a Saturday once a year, save your money.

Enjoy your trailer, we love our 8317rkss.
