carpet hem

Opened the tv slide today on my 2013 rock wood 8282 WS and the hem was pulled from the edge of the carpet. Not sure how. I assume the island table was on it and pulled it off when the slide was opening. Anyone else had this issue? And what was done about it? Had unit one week. not used it yet.

Find somebody that can hand stitch it back on. A local carpet installer might be a good place to get some help.

Yeah, wife seems to be eager to give a try at sewing it back. We'll see how that goes. Thanks.

She is going to need something to protect her fingers pushing that needle through, let alone getting stuck when it punches through on the other side.Be careful.

Yeah, I was thinking fabric glue. But I'll loan her some kevlar and a combat helmet and send her in. :-/

Wow. Wife contacted a carpet repair guy in Shreveport, LA. He came to our rv spot in Bossier city, got hem sample, returned with matching hem and re-sewed the entire length of the hem using a zig zag stitch in place of the straight stitch from the factory. And finished job in less than 30 minutes. $35.00. Thank you Jay Kerr.

Wow, awesome. That is so great that the DW didn't have to do the sewing. I think with his time traveling and all, that it was a good price to pay. Now you need to send the bill to FR for reimbursing.

What a great fix. Did your DW not like the Kevlar solution?
