Lightbulb Ceiling Fan Light Kit Replacement??

I'm still on my quest to improve the quality of light in my 8280SS.

I've replaced/upgraded some of the OEM plastic fixtures and replaced the globe over the dinette.

Now I'm looking at the light kit on the ceiling fan that has those 3 little spotlights. No matter which way I point them, I'm not happy with the light. Looking at the fan and lights it doesn't seem to be something that would easily retrofit with a light kit from Lowe's or Home Depot.

Anybody changed the light kit on their fan?

Mine didn't come with a light kit. I never noticed- can you unscrew the bottom and add a light kit like home fans?

That's the theory, anyway.

Most fans that lack a light kit have a place to put one. Usually there is sort of a decorative plug in the bottom of the "switch box." Take off the bottom, remove the plug and the light kit will come with a "barrel" that will mate the fan to the light kit and provide a place for wiring to pass through. There is likely a wire for the lights up in there as well.

But I think the fan in my trailer is made a little different. Some serious disassembly/rework my be required to remove the existing kit and replace it.

I replaced the incandescent bulbs with CF bulbs. They have the same "spotlight" shape as the original bulbs but the light is less bright and is much softer. And unfortunately some what blue-ish. But for the money and effort required I may just leave it at that.

BTW, in this trailer this is a 120 V AC fan. Now and then you'll see a 12 V fan.

Yeah, that's what ours is- the 12V one. I sure like it though.

That would have certain advantages, for sure. But putting a light kit on it?

I'd be clueless.
