I just purchased a Rockwood T2304S and while looking at one on the lot, they were replacing the vents with a newer kind for the reasons mentioned. I'd check with a dealer for replacement.

Has Rockwood said they will replace/recall these vents? Just found out the same thing this weekend with our new 8285WS. I don't mind a temporary fix in the meantime, but these need to be replaced with something better.

I've been busy camping, so the TT has an appointment tomorrow to replace all of the vents under warranty. In the interim, the clothespin trick mentioned earlier in this thread worked just fine.

Our dealer ordered our replacements last week. FR knows there is a problem, said they got a batch of too light ones.

We have one that closes on it's own. I did what Iggy did, a wad of paper but I am glad I saw this as I need to mention it to the dealer when I take our ZX700 and dining room table in next week.

I had the same issue with all vents in my 2011 8281SS. Returned it to dealer and Forrest River sent a new vents that worked well. The only issue is that they are not the same color. They are off white and the originals were bright white. I can deal with it as long as they function properly.

I KNOW this is an old thread, but I searched and instead of starting a new thread, I decided to BUMP this one (Wish more people searched before starting the same old threads again and again!). GREAT IDEAS that I have to try. Sick of all my A/C vents closing on me.
