Finally did it.
I was as HomeD today and looked at the double face tape in the carpet section. Decided to give it a try with the light weight astro turf that I tried making my own covers out of. It worked very well and the tape is super sticky stuff, hopefully the heat won't get to it but the steps look really nice.

Every time the wife's sister in law visits the trailer she pops a rivet in the steps. They are only rated for 300lbs. I've replaced 3 already with stainless steel bolts. I would like to carpet them, but I don't want to add even an extra ounce!

I will be putting some sort ova covering on my steps.
Last time out, my bulldog actually got her nail, caught in the holes as she went down.. You want to hear a dog scream?

Ss is not hardened, should be using gr8 5/16" bolts and nyloc nuts.

Our youngest pup refused to use the steps and we thought it was a joint problem. Once we carpeted he scampers in and out no problem. Later learned on the forums that this is common and the stair holes can cause serious injury.
