After reading about all the trouble and damage the Trail Express tires have caused I had ours changed to the Maxxis 8008 with steal valve stems. Also purchased a tpms and have them on the valve stems. We were getting ready for a 2000 + mile trip and didn't feel comfortable with the tires FR provided. Our trip plans have since changed, we will be leaving later and covering about 1/2 the mileage. I am so very happy we made the change in tires when we did.

Good choice and good planning.

Update on tires,

We winterized today so we are done until around March, 2015. We are having a couple of minor warranty issues taken care of so when we pick it up from dealer in a few weeks I will take it to storage (around 50 miles) and store it on factory tires. In the spring I will take it to have tires replaced before anymore trips (another 25 miles). I just need another 75 miles out of them.

So, point is that the China bombs made it through the year although they were constantly on my mind going down the road. I watched the TPMS frequently and did a walk around at every stop.

Total tally this year was around 7250 miles.

WARNING: Don't try this at home!!!!!!

The more I read about these 'China Bombs' the more paranoid I get !

I have Trans Masters on my '07 5th (from factory) labeled 'made in Taiwan' .
I have had Maxxis tires on previous 5th wheels and loved them.
The Plan is to replace these Trans Master tires with Maxxis when needed.

I have not read any "bad" about the Trans Master tires from Taiwan ...yet.

Has anyone had a problem with the TransMaster Tires ?

Thank you

Don't know about Transmasters.

The Chinese tires we and a lot of others have are labeled "Trailmaster"

They are labeled "Made in China?

Maxxis tires headquarter is in Taiwan
Cheng-Shin Rubber Ind. Co.,Ltd. is the ninth largest tire company in the world. Established in 1967, at the city of Yuanlin, Taiwan.

Klbrown53..... thank you for the reply.

I checked again, Mine are definitely TransMaster labeled Taiwan.

Seeing as there are some good to better brands like Maxxis made in Taiwan perhaps these TransMasters ....are not bombs (?)

I look forward to other trailer owners responses .

Oh boy, I'm glad I just came across this blog.

Our 8329ss is 1 year old and we probably put 6000 miles on them. I did notice one or two are low in air even though they have blue valves indicating other then plain air. But I hoped they were just low from the cold freezing air temps up here in Chicago. However I am having one pulled to check for a possible slow leak.

Now the problem...we leave in 4 weeks for Phoenix. Hmmmmm! About 2000 miles one way.

Maron,

A couple of mine are loosing air also. I check and air up every time before hitting the road. As I previously mentioned, I also monitor them with my TPMS going down the road. I believe I have pushed mine as far as I am willing too. They are coming off before any more trips.

Good luck on yours. Be very careful if you leave them on for your trip.

Ken
