Coming Back to camping.
Well after our 3 month trip in our motorhome and the third repair on our Murphy bed we decided to give up and sold it (think the last one fixed it). Now after a year of no camping we realized how much we missed it. Just bought a 2014 F150 4X4 with the 5.0L and am now looking for a Rockwood Mini Lite 2109S or a Coachman Freedom Express 192RBS. I have a tow Cap. of 7600lbs so it should work well, both under 4000 lbs empty. Anyone have any advise good or bad on these units.
Thanks

You asked for advice on your specific model, so perhaps not many folks have that model to comment on. I'm glad you are back camping and hope you enjoy every minute of it! Just remember, it's the bad situations that make for the best stories later!

We love our 2109S. It's easy to tow, easy to park, and has more storage space than anything else this size. The bathroom is pretty small, but it's functional -- and with the aid of an over-door towel rack and a few Command hooks, we can fit everything we need in there.
Hope you enjoy your new trailer!

Bought our 2109S in June. Tow it with 2014 F150 FX4 5.0L with no problems. Have gone on four trips so far and love the trailer. Welcome to the Rockwood Mini Lite community and enjoy yourselves.

Now that is very useful information. Thanks to ekrus and Tmbuktu for the great and positive info on your units. The F150 info makes me feel very good.

We bought a 2017 Mini Lite 2109s the end of June. We love how it pulls easy with our Dodge Hemi half ton. It is a wonderful floor plan for a couple. We keep it parked behind the house and use it as a retreat center. We took our first trip in August and it was so comfortable. All the systems we used worked flawlessly. We named it The Turtle...it carries its home away from home .

We own a 2012 2304 we bought new. Have now put over 25,000 miles on it & we're off to Arizona in it in November. Great trailers. We have the Murphy Bed in ours. Several other threads mentioned checking the
bolts to see if everything is tight. I'll do that probably this week.
We've done a few upgrades & went to the Goshen Rally last year.
I know we're not the same model but they're basically the same trailer.

We have had a 2109S for 3 seasons now.
We were sold on it because it was one of the very few smaller trailers w/o a dinette.
It has held up very well and is perfect for us.
I did have a problem with the USB & cigarette lighter ports being miswired and ruining my iPod.
Also 2 of the cabinet doors split.
The factory took care of both problems and replaced my iPod too.
I would recommend the extended warranty from the factory. The dealer may not tell you about this as they make no profit on it. They would rather sell you their warranty plan.
You can contact the factory directly to inquire about the extended warranty.

I've had a 2013 Micro-Lite 23LB for three years now and towed it with a 2013 F150 super-cab (4X4 - tow package - 5.0 motor - 3.55 gears along with an equalizer 4 pt. WD hitch) and have had no problems. The 5.0 took the hills well and had no sway or bounce with the equalizer hitch*. I've also had no major problems with the Micro-Lite and so far the Murphy Bed has worked flawlessly with no issues although I did glue heavy rubber pads on the two legs so they wouldn't indent the flooring when down.
You should be good to go with your setup. If you experience any sway or lack of feel in the steering while towing, I'd recommend an equalizer 4 point W/D hitch. I also installed a Prodigy P2 brake control on my new F150 (taken from my 2013 F150) and it works good
Good luck and enjoy your new RV.
*(Just bought a 2016 F150, 4X4 super-crew cab with the tow package, a 5.0 and 3.31 gears. Again, no problems towing even with the higher gears. Both trucks (2013 vs. the 2016) tow about the same. One other difference, besides the gearing, is the 2013 5.0 is rated at 360hp and the 2016 5.0 at 385hp).

That is good news. I have purchased the 4 point W/D hitch and they will set it up when I pick it up. The F150 has a factory brake control unit. thanks for the post. Do you use a solar panel for charging if so what kind.

I've never had or used a solar panel of any type. I sometimes run my Honda EU2000I 2000 generator a couple hours every day while camping (to keep my wife happy watching the Weather channel and a few other programs) and that usually recharges the battery.
As far as your new W/D hitch...one word of caution...make sure your RV dealer installs the W/D hitch correctly. I've read a few times on this forum that some mechanics (techs) at RV dealers have little idea the proper way to adjust and setup a W/D hitch. And if it's not set up right, it's as good as not having one at all.
I set up mine own W/D hitch after reading the instructions a few times along with a lot of good advice I found from members on this forum. If you have questions on your W/D hitch, do a search on this forum, under "weight distribution hitch", or "Sway" for some of good info.
Here's a recent thread on this forum concerning a dealership that set up a W/D hitch:
http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...es-116134.html
And here's a link on this forum to the search subject "Sway":
