Does anyone have a running knowledge of how these units work? On mine the power button show a red light but the unit will not perform any of it's functions. The manual although very informative does not give one any troubleshooting tips. I've pulled the base out from the wall but all I ever see is a mass of wire. Hard to tell what's what. Any hints from anyone as to what I should be looking for?? Have a nice day.
The model of the digital surround system is a ZX500. I removed it from it's resting place in the RV yesterday and when I had it out I pressed the eject for the DC that was in it and low and behold it ejected but that was all it did. When I put it back it still didn't work.

Sorry to hear that. Looks like eBay may be your best option to replace at a reasonable price. They are only selling their most recent products online.

I had one in a 2005 Flagstaff and it reached a point that I could only get it to operate using the remote control. Few if any of the faceplate buttons worked. As long as I used the remote...it worked fine.

Over torquing the mounting screws has been known to warp the circuit board holding the buttons. Try loosening the screws and see if the buttons start to work again.

I just went out and disconnected the negative post on my battery for about two minutes and when I reconnected the negative terminal it made no difference. I kind of think that maybe a 5 pounder will do the trick. I don't even have a remote to try it that way. Any model numbers for those remotes you folks are talking about? Thanks and have a great day.
I have a 2010 Flagstaff and does the same thing. I have to pull the fuse in the converter box , wait 5 sec. replace and the radio will work just fine
x'2 You need to do a reset, You could call Crutchfield, they might be able to help they were and are still suppliers for Concertone. I bought 2 new 6" outdoor speakers from them same as the 4" that came with the unit, they even say Concertone on them.

Yes I know how. They normally don't...

The remote buttons do stick at times. If the buttons stick on the control panel won't work either. I find the power button sticks on th remote and the volume buttons as well. The panel torqued is an issue and the fix as mentioned by Herk, Just loosen the screws.

Mine is just the opposite. It won't shut off so I had to put a switch on the hot wire.

Which wire did you add the switch to? I would like to shut it off to, I pulled the unit and Couldn't figure out which one was from the fuse to it? They have at least 12 to that panel. I added a switch to the CO detector but not the genesis yet. I don't like them making it hot all the time. I don't use the memory anyway.
I wish I could tell you without pulling the unit to see. I do remember that the positive wire was clearly shown in the manual and on a sticker on the back.

Thanks Lou, I will pull the unit out tomorrow, and take a look.
You should have the wiring diagram on the back of the unit.
FYI I have a 500 for parts if you need one. Unit works with b and c speakers but the amp did not work for a.
