I contacted Doug Fought and we will be bringing the TT to him in October. He said they could put us on the "hot" list, since we are otherwise homeless, but it's still going to take a couple of weeks to get the repairs done.
I mentioned the jumping video on the Concertone and he said they would swap out the radio for whatever is currently being used. How cool is that?
All in all we feel confident that Forest River will take care of any issues we have and that BigRed hooked us up with a good customer service person in Doug Fought.
I am so glad I ran across this forum. It has been a priceless resource for me.
Thanks y'all.

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to supply an update. Doug honored our warranty (purchased from RVW, but we live in Canada). We arranged to drop our trailer at a dealership just across the border. About an hour away from us. All updates will be done at the factory and trailer delivered back to dealership we dropped off at. Great service ... very pleased. This forum has been a great resource. Thank-you all!

This morning I noticed the same crack on my 2011 Rockwood 8313 Signature Ultralight. Can someone please post or PM me the contact info for Doug?

We picked up our repaired 3065W from the factory this afternoon and we're very pleased with the work performed.
Doug Fought put us in contact with the service manager at the plant that takes care of the repair work and he worked directly with us from drop off to pick up. We took ours to the factory in Millersburg, Indiana ourselves since we were in the area then picked it up there as well.
We wanted an egress window in the bedroom and they were able to accommodate us with that as well.
I was a little concerned after reading about BigRed's experience but I'm happy to say that we have no complaints, just praise.
So to Doug, Floyd and the crew... thank you so much for a job well done!
My only regret.... I didn't ask for a factory tour but we are in elkhart for a few days so maybe I'll give them a call.
BTW... We saw a lot of the new Rockwoods with the new exterior color and frameless windows... very nice!

Crack in Rockwood Windjammer

Purchased a 2011 Rockwood Windjammer 3008w from a dealer in Ohio in March 2011. Towed to trailer to Newfoundland Canada and spent quite a bit of time travelling around the province during the summer. On one of our trips we discovered that the front slide had shifted from front to back while towing enough to tear the bracket for the awning completely off the outside of the trailer. Replaced the bracket myself but still found that the slide was shifting while towing. Since then I have discovered a crack in the outside wall just above the slide similar to what I have seen here. I have contacted the dealer on numerous occasions in the last month and feel that I am getting the run around from them. They keep telling me they will get back to me. Does anyone have a contact name and number with Forest River who I can discuss this issue with. Getting no satisfaction from the dealer. Any response will be appreciated. FRUSTRATED.....

Unhappy Oh No

Now I am concerned. I am in the process of buying a Windjammer 3008w and now the crack issue and moving slide issue has me concerned. Do I back out on this purchase?

I believe all the crack issues were on models 2011 and earlier. There are others here who may know more but from what I have seen and followed on the various threads I believe I am correct. I know there were some design changes on the 2012 models and I do not recall seeing any issues with the cracks.

Glad to know that. I will definitely ask about it when I talk to Jay at Fairfield RV on Thursday. I am going back to the RV show for another look and to get a trade-in appraisal for my Terry TT.

I was checking back to see how the repairs have been going, not as many reports as I was hoping to see. So far I have only towed my Windjammer 3008W from the dealer to home, but I am keeping an eye for any signs of a problem. Keeping my fingers crossed that the issue has been resolved.

I was considering purchase of a 2011 model 3065W when I discovered this thread. The dealer got me in touch with Rockwood. It was explained that just a specific series of that trailer had the problem. That floorplan had been built in a 5th wheel and it was determined that the wheel placement was too far forward in the TT version. The one I was looking at was beyond that S/N run where the wheel placement had been modified.

I made the purchase based on that and so far am very happy with the trailer.

When they do the repairs on the 3065W they also move the axles back 8 inches.

Crack at the slide out

My 3065 was the same, I was able to work directly through my dealer and it was repaired... I love it, better than new.

I did go to the factory to pick it up and was able to talk directly with the production manager, he said they started making changes when they found the first crack and made a series of, I beleive 4 or 5 changes. He said this was not a "across the board problem" so it was a little hard to pin point. He said several came in with added hitches and racks and felt this may have contributed to it but was not 100% sure, he advised not to add weight onto the back of the light weight trailers, so be carefull. He said with the changes made they have not had any of the issues with any built after Feb 2011.

Thought you would find this interesting...

Warming up in the south, looking at heading to the Rockies this spring.

I just bought a new leftover 2011 3065w a couple weeks ago. Does anyone know where I can find the date of manufacture? I want to see if mine is one of the affected ones. If so, maybe I can have the axles moved back and prevent the cracking.

Thanks Big Red for the info. I just discovered a crack in our 3065 and have contacted Doug and he said they would take care of it Was your repair satisfactory and do you have a picture of the curb side? How did they move the axle back without getting into the slide?
Thanks for your help.

Too late...I just got back from a camping trip last weekend and discovered the crack over the rear ds slideout. Guess I will be contacting Doug for warranty repair. This bites...

Anyone considering a pre-2012 model of this trailer can have the dealer contact the factory to verify if it is one built after the mods. No pain.

My temporary pain is leaving it at my Dealer on Saturday. Hope it gets fixed like the others that have had to have the crack fixed. I trust they will take care of it.
