Warranty

Does anyone know how long the warranty is for this repair? I bought my 3065W in April of 2010 (2011 model) so I'm afraid I may have the same issue of cracking down the road. Camper has been great so far, no issues!

I don't think the cracking is a warranty issue. It is a design flaw that Rockwood should cover regardless of the warranty. The fact that you are the original owner should help.

Hey all,

Stay on top of the situation and you should be fine. Doug at Forest River took care of my trailer too. He is sometimes hard to get in contact with but they made good on it. My 2008 8318 developed a crack in the wall at the top of the small slide. I ended up having to bring it to the factory in Indiana myself and they had it all winter. We did get new decals etc. so my 2008 has different decals. I believe they are 2010 decals and they also swapped out my troublesome concertone with a newer concertone which is slightly less troublesome. Other than the 10 hr drive each way it was fixed at no cost. Just a PITA getting it there and back. Let me know if you still need the number for Doug I should have it in an old email.

Ken

I don't have a 3065 Windjammer but I do have a Windjammer 3008 that now has fallen victim to the cracked wall. Off door side above the front end of the larger slide. It is a 2012 model and we have owned the trailer since May 2011. I contacted Forest River and they are taking the unit back to Indiana the week beginning July 22nd and replacing the entire wall. Doug Fought responded immediately to my situation and after a couple of pictures--Forest River is standing tall and stepping forward. Really nice to see Forest River stand behind their product and to have caring people such as Doug on their staff to take care of their customers.

Randy,
I am sorry to hear about the cracked wall. I have a 2012 3008W and keep checking mine. Do you know if this cracked wall is a design flaw that I can expect too. I am hoping they have already corrected the issue that causes the cracks. If you have any information I would really like to know.

Regards,
Jim

Just discovered this on Sunday when we returned from our vacation to Minnesota. I was washing the trailer when I found it. Not sure how, when or why it happened. Almost everything I've read in a couple of threads about cracks seemed to center around the 3065 model. Forest River is making arrangements to have the trailer taken back to their facility for the repair and then the return to my dealer. They say I will have back in time for Labor Day weekend camping. Doug Fought has been great to work with and so far I am very pleased with how they are handling this. I hope the repair is as good as the customer service has been so far.

They fixed my 3065 with no hassles. Even fixed some other things that were broken. I am very happy.

So glad to hear the company is taking care of that for you, Randy. From all the reports we've read on here, it seems Forest River has been consistently standing behind its product and doing the right thing in addressing this issue. I find myself in the same boat as Jim (above), wondering if I should be expecting to find a crack on my 2013 Windjammer 3008W soon. My rig has the identical configuration and slide as yours. Since my unit was not built until April 2012, like Jim I wonder if the cause was something which might have been discovered and corrected by the time my rig was built, or whether that has occurred even yet. If anyone learns the cause and whether any fix has been effected, I'm sure we'd all love to hear the details on those points.

I will keep this thread up to date with the progress of the repair. I will be anxious to see if I get an explanation as to the cause. For all of the other members, hopefully this is an isolated situation on the 3008W. I am not aware of any other units under this model number being affected. Seems the 3065 took the brunt of the hits and if I remember correctly, the majority were 2011 models. I guess time will tell--not only on the repairs for my trailer but if the problem continues in the Windjammer line. Let's all hope we can conclude this topic very soon.

The 3006w falls victim as well. Mine goes in Aug 9 th. Should have it back early to mid October. Went thru Napa Rv for the contact. Everything going smooth so far. The crack appears to the left of the rear door. FR said they have had bad welds on some of the trailers. They also said people have been trying to lift there trailers with the rear stabilizer jack and causing a crack. I doubt that because they blow a fuse before that happens. Anyways I am happy FR is standing behind there product and I tell people that as well.

Doosterhouse--sorry to hear about your situation. I feel your pain. There has to be other issues with all these cracks. Some are at the back, some toward the front. I've heard it was because of axle placement, now bad welds and stabilizer jacks. Like you, I'm just glad Forest River is stepping up to the plate and working with their customers.
Good luck and keep us posted.

Off to Table Rock Lake in southwestern MO for the weekend and then the trailer gets taken back to the dealer Monday so FR can pick it up next week for its return to the factory.

Got an email from Forest River Warranty Dept. this morning and my trailer made it back to the Indiana Service Center. So far, everything has gone as promised and Forest River has been great about handling this. Thanks Deb!

dschacht@forestriverinc.com First name is Deb. I know she works with Rockwood. Not sure about other brands but should be able to direct you in the right direction.

Email from Deb at FR this morning informing me the trailer work has been completed and is in the hands of dispatch to move the trailer back to Liberty RV where I can pick it up. Don't have a firm date yet but it shouldn't be very long. Camping Again! Yea!

Of course I haven't seen their work yet but am positive everything will be satisfactory. From the work order summary it looks like quite a project and a reference to Lippert adding some C-channel reinforcement. Anxious to see what that is. Very happy with the overall time line on the repair even with the Rally going on and the techs being out at the Fairgrounds.

YooRoo--I guess they didn't part my trailer out too much!

The Windjammer is back at our local dealer fresh from the factory repair. We get to pick it up tomorrow afternoon. Anxious to see how the repairs look.

Thank you Forest River! Trailer looks great and they even fixed a few odds and ends that were not part of the original problem. Actually want it to rain some so we can make sure the trailer doesn't leak. I'm sure it will be fine. It will be Labor Day weekend before we make a trip out and can't wait to be camping again.

My 2011 Windjammer 3065WA is going off to FR for the crack issue as well.
I have cracks on both sides. They will be picking it up the week of Oct 14 and back 4 to 6 weeks later.
Just wondered how many others have had to send there TT’s back for this issue?
We love our Jammer but hate the cracks.
