I didn't ask my question very well. We wrap it to keep it from breaking and rattling but is it necessary to wedge it into place? We've never had a problem with it bouncing and the microwave door has never opened when we are driving down the road. So I guess I'm just wondering if it's necessary to wedge it into place or if wrapping it in a towel just covers any potential issues?

We use the rubber shelf lining and that generally helps. The door latches on our cabinets are pretty good IMO.

Though DW did not like the unbreakable plate and bowl set that I had picked up so she went with a cheap 16 piece ceramic set.

I help it out greatly when on the first trip after that purchase a gakked a curb with the trailer and turned it into a 70 piece set.

That's pretty funny. My latches on the cabinets and draws have been secure in travel as well.
