We have the 8327 w table & 4 chairs. We stowed 2 chairs since 95% of the time it is just DW & I, then turned the table side ways as a desk/ table. Works great.
Of course we also have the island w 2 stools to eat off of also.

no dinette thank you
Brian,
We agree with you. That's why we bought the Rockwood Mini-lite 2109s
and NOT the 2104s. We have a very comfortable sofa to sit on. We sold the ridiculously heavy freestanding table and purchased a 4-foot plastic table (Lifetime). The table stores neatly behind the sofa and when we need it it's easy to retrieve.

Yeah, we agree. We were just talking the other day that our next rig must have seating other than the dinette or no dinette at all.

I vote for the free standing table/chairs. Dinettes are OK too with the extra storage. Our trailer has a dinette and has to stay that way because the converter is under one side. I may have to think about this and how to replace the dinette with a free standing table/chair.

I have had both. The dinette was cramped and uncomfortable. The table is tight against the recliners and impossible to get to the seats against the wall without completely removing the outer chairs. One of the flimsy chairs already broke just from my 97 pound son sitting down to a bowl of cereal. We are thinking of yanking the table out altogether and getting some nice TV stands. It's just the 3 of us and we usually take meals outside at the picnic table, so TV stands would work for our situation.

I have mixed emotions about the dinette. On one hand I love the fact that it is a trip purpose space for us. We have under-bench storage, a table for 3-4, and a bed for 1 if we need it (and we do sometimes even though we try not to load up with that many people). On the other hand, it's tough in that since it does fill three functions it doesn't really do any one of them perfectly. As a bed it's no more comfortable than a bunk, storage space is limited and tough to get to, and while it's nice to have a table and benches, it's a wobbly table and not quite so comfortable benches. I guess the way I see it....if i could get over losing a bed, maybe it would be neat to have a breakfast nook type counter top with a few folding stools. Stools could be stowed, counter could swing down for more open space after meals. Other than that, I'd rather have the dinette since it offers more function over a standard table and chairs.

The TT that we had was equipped with a free standing table and 4 chairs . Our 5er has a large dinette which can sit 6 people . The amount of storage under the seats is great so we vote for the dinette .

Table or dinette
We have a table and chairs with the atrium windows which we love but would like the dinette flr the ability to have a bed for the grand kids and for the extra storage. I did move the table out from the windows to make more elbo room and raised the top up from the base to mame it easer to get in under tbe table. Good luck with your choice.

I had a dinette in a PU and TT and would never consider it again. I find them uncomfortable to sit at and a space hog. I don't need the additional storage as it is usually stuff that I really don't need. Helps keep my overall weight down. As others have mentioned when it is just DW and I, we will leave 2 chairs at home and enjoy the added space.

If I had a larger camper with a dedicated sofa I wouldn't really like the dinette but in my smaller roo I think it is awesome. It has been a table for eating or using the laptop, it has been a huge extra bed when needed, and best of all it is an awesome day lounge when I throw a bunch of pillows on it in the bed position. I don't know how else I could get this much utility in this little space.
If I had the space I would vote theater sofa and a table/chairs setup.

Hate them!
Had one in our 1st camper, a Coleman popup, and it was uncomfortable.
We made sure our 2nd trailer, a TrailManor 3124 KS, did not have one and it was exactly the reason we purchased our Rockwood 2109s.
Like many other 2109s owners, we replaced the heavy factory table with a lighter plastic top table.

We like our little dinette! I'm a manager of a group of 14 folks and we're working 24/7/365 so I keep my laptop on it so I can check into my work e-mail. (I know public wifi's are notoriously unsafe but I use a secure end-to-end connection by using encryption and a OTP, one-time-password, authenticator.)
It's also perfect for playing cards and eating plus it's a pretty big sleeping area for the grandkids and the storage underneath is very useful.
So how do you folks with the wooden table and chairs secure it all for traveling?

Love my dinette, like the low storage it has under the seats plus no chairs moving around while going down the road. Thats why they make white and black autos.,,,,to each his own.

We have u-shaped dinette and it's ok but I wish they would've put the table about 3 inches farther out. We have to take the cushions out to get an adult to squeeze around to the back and even then it's a tight fit.
