Dinettes (or lack thereof)

I just came across a thread talking about removing the dinette and replacing it with recliners (or other). At first I thought it was a ridiculous idea, but after thinking about it for about half a second, I started thinking about how much more comfortable recliners would be than the dinette, how much floor space it would free up, how the dog beds could go on some of that floor space . . . . We mostly eat outside, but dinner and computer time in the recliners is not uncommon. Has anyone removed their dinette and replaced it with other furniture? If so, I'd love to see some pictures of what that would look like.

I didn't post on that thread because it was too old to comment on, so I'm starting a new one.

Thanks!

There's no reason not to remove it. The parts are usually just lightly framed and can come out in not much time at all.

Find something comfortable that fits and run with it!

If you use Facebook, there's a group called RV Interior Ideas or something like that. Amazing transformations there.

We removed the dinette in our 2104S and put a futon in the space. We love the fact that it not only acts as a sofa but also folds down into a full size bed. We tried the recliner idea, but the foldable futon gives more seating space, a bed option, and storage underneath it for a table and folding chairs, or whatever you can fit. The recliners while comfy just weren’t that handy.
