Do I even have a subwoofer?!?

My system says 3.1, but I'll be darned if I can find a subwoofer. Anybody have a clue? Thank you in advance.

It's more than likely behind the risers of your stairs. There should be an access panel in your basement that you can remove to check and see. Mine is next to impossible to reach through the basement due to framing but I can see it. Recently, it quit working so I pulled back the carpet from the stair riser and found a wire had come loose. Re-attached and all is good.

Turn on all speakers (A, B & C). Some subs are on a different switch than the mains depending on which amp you have.

If you are running digital input, i tried it was all full of noise. The subwoofer would be rerouted as per 5.1 standard means only content deemed sub capable by surround standards would go there to be heard. They assume with most system you have some bass response down to 120 hz in the main Left and Right speakers. In my case the ceiling mounted L C R and SL SR are all the same and likely have poor Lo Frequency response. I run RCA in and use the Heavy or Rock setting on EQ to get some low end.

With my system B is Bedroom and C is outside on the 2 inch drivers in weatherproof cabinets.

Mine is under one of the dinette benches. I discovered it while checking out my furnace. Like many TT things, I was able to improve on the installation with not too much effort. Sounds great now.

I will try this if the first one doesn't work.

I have the same unit, never could here it, I had the factory at Goshen show me where it was at, it was behind the fireplace no sound access at all. I cut in two 5x8" holes in the sides and just covered them with a speaker cover. Still really it was waste of time. But that is where we found it on a 8289WS 2012 model.

Mine is in the wall behind the home theatre box and the bedroom wall. How did I found out? I took the Phoenix box out of the wall to make sure the antennae was connected and noticed a box sitting between the walls on the floor. Wondering what it was for a bit til I realized it was the subwoofer. All's it did was rattle the walls anyways. Overrated.
