Dometic frig problem on new Rockwood

Dometic frig on new rockwood freezing the cottage cheese on top shelf. It is set on the mid setting. The themometer shows temp in safe range. Unit is 3 weeks old. Freezer works good. Do,I need a fan or is unit bad. I can find no other adjustments. We had other brand in last trailer, kept food without freezing. Any help appreciated.

I have a new Rockwood 2016 2703WS and was told that the top shelf WILL freeze things. I was told to rotate items out of it or put vodka and gin there!

Suggest a fan and crank the temperature up a bit.

I just picked up my 2017 Rockwood Ultra lite last week and during the walk thru was told not to keep anything on the top shelf which I didn't want to freeze. I also agree with Rockfordroo a fan might help out .

I installed a refrigerator fan which keeps the temperature constant and steady at 34 degrees. Here is the website of the fan I installed.

Does your unit have the slider adjustment for temp or digital control? Just wondering as my Mini Lite has a Dometic without the digital control and I've never had an issue with freezing. I know the late 2016 / early 2017 models are digital.

I added one of the inside fan assy.works great. But was also told by the dealer should it short out and smoke the refrigerator, warranty won't cover it.So be sure to wire it thru a FUSE.

It's fused by the light circuit you wire it to.

Getting ready to add one myself. Mine only draws 400mA and is fused itself.

We have had pretty good luck by just making sure the air circulates throughout the fridge. I have seen several inexpensive fans like the one pictured below. That is the one we are currently using since we accidently let our other fan go away during the trade in process. Not sure if it will keep your items from freezing but we haven't had anything freeze yet and everything stays evenly cold throughout.

Yes if you fuse it to the light circuit.but if you fuse it to the rear of the refrig.like many of us have the fuse is 20-25 amp.and the tiny wires of the fan assy.would smoke really bad before the fuse went.I have mine on a inline fuse with a 2/10 rating.

We noticed our fridge did not keep the ice cream frozen. Didn't notice an issue with the top shelf.

Dealer couldn't find anything wrong. It froze water on medium setting.

Have always had the little blue fan in the fridge part, so that may be why we didn't have an issue with the top shelf.

Something else to keep a wary eye upon.

My fridge didn't cool right when we got our new camper. On AC it would get to 42 degrees in the fridge.Ice maker would work but the ice was not actually frozen.ON LP it would get to 80 degrees if on LP for 5 or more hours.all gas connections were good etc.the Fix was that the HOLE at the top of the refrigerator compartment that lets the heat out the roof was NEVER cut out. Works fine after that??
