Door Closer Removal ?
Has anyone removed their door closer located on the bottom of the door to allow the door to be completely open ? If so what hardware did you use to the secure the door to the side of the trailer ?

If not using the Shock system, most just have the Old T Floppy holder that has been used for Years! Youroo!! I see your door is free to swing back to the side wall, others have obstacles, windows, awning arms vents, rct!

Your right I have no obstructions on my trailer....I considered the old T Style...But not thrilled about drilling any holes in the door or the trailer to mount the parts....Maybe I could glue them or us some type of adhesive ?

If you could find adhesive like they use to put the Roof Skin on Semi Trailers that is the REAL DEAL! I think it comes in a roll! Youroo!!

I would think if you don't remove it, the wind will do it for you one day when it grabs the door that's sticking straight out

X2
I'm thinking of doing it to mine. I'm sure it will take the 6" T holder to get it done as I have a crank out kitchen window to compensate for. I don't sweat the drilling concerns though as long as you use the sealing putty around the screws you should be good. I'm not real crazy on the gas shocks on the doors either. Just used to the previous TT that allowed you to open and latch the doors all the way.

Thank you for the info as well. I plan to remove the door closer/opener on mine as well. The T holder seems to be the common way to go, but was wondering if there are other alternatives.

I had the very same issue with my TT, 26VFKS.
I removed the door closer from the Ball joints. I then looped a small bungee around the door handle and there happened to outdoor TV mount that I secured the door to with the bungee. You want to be careful in a windy campsite.
