DW prefers shower curtain over shower door.

We have a '15 Windjammer 2809 for a couple of years now and the question that came up was can we remove the shower glass door and sides replacing it with a shower curtain? Has anyone done this type of mod.?

Correct! I was thinking of using those shower rod extenders that provide more room in a shower stall.

Don't think you'll be able to do that, because of the shower pan.....be real hard to keep a curtain in side at the bottom and there's nothing to support a curtain rod

I think you would be able to figure out how to support the curtain rods,but keeping the curtain inside the pan might be a challenge.

If I was gonna do this, I'd build 1/2 walls on both sides of door/ entry area, cut the glass door down, add supports for curtian rod off of the half walls

There is a curtain that has a bottom track... It is made by SEA America. Unfortunately they don't have a very good website. Lance RV is using them in their current line of travel trailers. The contact at the SEA is Trico (Tryco)

It has a bowed out top frame, with a track at the bottom. It is like a soft curtain but acts more like a door.

Could you compromise using a shower rod and curtain with the doors open or temporarily removing only the doors and leaving glass walls if any?

We have a rectangle shower so it was easy to put a tension rod and curtain up. We left the doors on but it beats having to dry those 3 sliding glass doors to keep from water spotting! Could you possibly use 3 smaller tension rods on the top frame? You would only be able to slide the curtain to the width of each section but one side could have the excess curtain and entry maybe?

Unfortunately, I guess in my situation I would have to replace the shower pan with a rounded one. Then they would be able to help. I'm not giving up hope yet. Where there is a will there is a way! LOL

Your best solution would be to take out the whole shower and install a new rectangle shower stall.

We also have a corner shower. We removed the glass from the door leaving the door frame in place. We put two plastic clips (like you buy at Harbor Freight Tools) on the top aluminum wall frame close to the door on either side. We laid a rod across the "Vee" formed by the clip handles just inside the door and hung a shower curtain from the rod. It works great for us. No water dripping on the floor and the shower dries fast. If you want easy and inexpensive give this a try.

You can get shower curtains or shower curtain liners that are weighted at the bottom.

Or take your favorite shower curtain or liner and crimp on some fishing line lead weights. For added elegance, tuck them inside a hem at the bottom. But, I mean, that's living high off the hog!

We use a squeegee on the glass walls after showering. Quicker and easier than cleaning. No spots.
