Electric Hot water heater help!!

I have a 2011 Windjammer 3002W. I just bought it. I turned on the hot water heater rocker switch above the TV and the gas fires up the water heater. I want to use electric, why wont this work. I have looked for a switch and cannot find one around the water heater. I have turned the circuit breaker on and off. Help....

if you turn the switch for gas off and go back out to the water heater on the bottom left hand corner behind the pipe you will see a rocker switch - it may have a pin in it - pull pin and push to on - when you are packing up make sure to turn the switch off
the tank should have water in it before flipping to on - hope that helps if it doesnt I know I can find a picture around here somewhere for you

If you have only 30 amp service, and try to run the water heater on electric, the AC, the fridge, the microwave, and anything else, you will start tripping breakers, usually the 30 amp. It is not always best to use the electric portion of the water heater. That is why the switch is hard to find.

Glad you figured it out.

Here's a great link to a mod (Posted by Willis) to add a switch INSIDE the camper...

Water Heater Switch with Power-on Light

I was wondering why I kept hearing the burner on the water heater this weekend. I assumed being plugged in it would switch to the electric like the fridge. Add this to another thing that the walk trough did not explain to us..
