Electric Stab Jacks

I just picked up a new 2608WS. Are the feet on the stab jacks suppose to be loose so they flop into place when lowering them? I have a couple that are very tight and have to be manually turned to set flat on the block. Can I safely loosen them up or could they come off if they were loosened?

There are nylon lock nuts on the feet. You most likely can un-thread them a quarter turn without any effect other than to let them flop a bit.

Been my experience that when you put a few hundred pounds of force on them; they level right out anyway (smile).

Our rear stabilizer feet are stiff too. But when I run them down to the ground, they have always flattened out so I haven't worried about it to much.

Right, they should flatten out but mine are so tight you have to crawl under the TT and pull them down or they land on an edge. My back doesn't bend as easy as it used to so I'll try loosening up the stop nuts a little. Thanks!

One other thing. As they lower, they move inward. If you are on pavement or packed gravel or rock, this movement puts them in a bind once they start to take on weight. Use Lynx levelers or some other slippery pad to put under them. You'll be surprised at how much they "crawl" once on the ground.

That's why I bolted alum covered Lynx blocks to the bottom of mine.

If you look at the installation instructions for the steadyfast system he shows some unique ways of blocking the stabilizer feet to make the unit more stable
