Electric stabilizer trick

After discovering that the manual stab crank fits the screw on the street side of Rocky (the motor is attached on the curb side), I realized I could add extra torque to the stabilizers.
Put the stabs down, stopping as the motor begins to complain. Grab the long crank handle used for manual slide operation; it fits the stabs, too. Attach it to the street side end of the screw and hump down on the crank, squeezing out another turn. Makes a big difference in stabilizing the TT.

As Turbs said, you are asking for a bent stab leg. They are only made of 0.083 material and are very flimsy at best. I took mine off and reinforced them and the mounting channel that houses the entire leg/channel/screw assembly. I reinforced the legs with 1-1/2" x 2-1/2" x 1/8" C channel that was skip welded to the legs. The mounting channel was reinforced with 2" x 2" x 1/8" angle on each side and skip welded together in the center and on the sides sticking up about 3/4" above the channel itself. Angle iron was 63" long and just fit between the mounting angles coming down from the frame.

I'm not lifting the TT off the tongue jack or picking the tires up, just getting that last bit manually to keep from tripping the breaker.
The manual says they're rated to hold 3000lbs. FWIW.
